Restaurant owner runs in fear and foils robbery
A robbery attempt at Suly’s Restaurant located near the Belize City Fire Station, was unsuccessful. But there was still an arrest and charge for the July fifth crime. Eighteen year old Glenn Murrillo, a Construction Worker of Sarstoon Street, is believed to have been one of two men who entered the restaurant, pretending to be customers then demanded money from the Manager, Maria Santos. According to Santos, fear thwarted the robbery as she panicked, ran into a room and locked herself in. That turned out to be a smart move because the two men then ran out of the restaurant empty handed. Murrillo was arraigned on Tuesday evening for Attempted Robbery with a Firearm. He appeared unrepresented before the Chief Magistrate, Ann Marie Smith and pleaded not guilty to the offense. Since a firearm was involved, he was automatically denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until August twenty-eighth. Police are still looking for the second suspect.

Our laws call for harsh and inevitable justice when a firearm is used. Let’s watch this case and make sure the law is followed. One more thug in prison is a good thing.
Hang him hang him high.
“Hang him hang him high.”
Ummmm, he didn’t cause any harm to anyone, so enslave him instead and put him to work for the country for a few years. Prison is stupid and is a further crime upon the people forcing them to give up more of their money to pay to take care of the criminal, slavery should be reinstated, it is a much better option then prison and still allows the criminal to have some sort of freedom, while providing work for the country at no charge to the citizens.
