A farm worker is found murdered on the outskirts of Cotton Tree
An intense police investigation is underway tonight following the gruesome discovery of the badly decomposed remains of a caretaker who was murdered on a remote farm near the outskirts of Cotton Tree Village. Details are sketchy but the body of fifty-two year old David Martinez, a naturalized Belizean who had been reported missing a week ago by a fellow watchman, was found over the weekend tucked inside a culvert four hundred yards away from the farmhouse. According to David McKoy, supervisor of Maya Mopan Land Farm, he received a call from David Perez during which he was informed that Martinez had not been seen or heard from since July eighth. Subsequently, Belmopan police were notified of the disappearance and a search party was dispatched into an area approximately one mile off the Western Highway. Upon arriving at the ranch, the officers entered the wooden structure where they observed that it had been vandalized. Inside the bedroom, they also noticed that the walls, flooring and bed were bloodstained. The team then fanned out across the property where the body was discovered wrapped in a sheet. It is believed that Martinez was stabbed multiple times before being dumped in the ditch. His body was transported to the Western Regional Hospital where it awaits an autopsy.
Let’s hope the murderer[s] are caught, convicted, and killed. Not necessarily in that order.
A life for a life, no mercy, no exceptions. The Jewel has become Paradise for killers, and Hell for everyone else — we need to get back to sanity and security by any means necessary.
Because of this gov. The murder rate is going up every month soon we will surpass el Salvador in the murder rates belizeans are being snuffed out at an alarming rate.
Rod, the more you say it the faster it gets there man!! Be careful
Another murder, oh my, has life become so meaningless in Belize. God must be shedding tears over this country. Pastors and Ministers need to begin to preach on the flood and why God caused the flood to destroy the earth. The people had become lawless, just as Belizeans are now and God had to destroy them and start over. This is the way Belize is headed. Please people don’t let the wrath of God make changes for you, make them yourself. I blame the government for not making stronger laws especially for murder. If death penalty is enacted these murdering cowards will slow down and think. The first public execution will change things, guaranteed.
