Woman accused of killing her husband is subject of coroner’s inquest

Security Guard, twenty-six year old Albert Maverick Morgan, was killed at his Belize City home on December twenty-second, 2009. His wife, Audrey, was accused of stabbing him in the chest, but no one was ever charged for his death. Today, a coroner’s inquest began before Magistrate Dale Cayetano to determine whether anyone should be held responsible for Morgan’s death. Three jurors have been selected and this morning, three of twelve witnesses appeared in court.  Pathologist Dr. Hugh Sanchez testified that Morgan was killed by a four inch stab wound to the chest. Two hundred millimeters of blood were found in Morgan’s heart sac, his left lung had collapsed and his spleen was wrinkled.  The two others who testified were Detective Constable Martin Bahadur and JP Modesto Madrill. On the day of the stabbing, police had recorded a caution statement from Audrey Morgan, who reportedly told them that shortly after two a.m., her husband came home intoxicated and began to beat her. She claims that he choked her, lifting her up off from the ground and that’s when she grabbed a knife from the television stand and stabbed him once. The coroner’s inquest was adjourned for July twenty-sixth.

WAIT ….. SO THE WOMAN ADMITTED STABBING HER HUSBAND AND THE POLICE HAS A RECORDED STATEMENT, YET SHE WAS NOT CHARGED WITH HIS MURDER??? MEANWHILE THE INQUIRY IS JUST NOW TAKING PLACE, AND EVEN WITH THE CONFESSION A MURDERER IS, FREE AND STILL NOT CHARGED…… ONLY IN BELIZE, WOW!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! WHY ARE THE BELIZE PEOPLE NOT PROTESTING MORE???? SMH, THE DEVIL IS RAMPANT AND SHOWING HIMSELF CLEARLY IN BELIZE!!!!!

They didnt say that the woman’s original story was that someone broke into the house and began struggling with her husband and killed her husband. Then after not believing the story she told the police that she did it after the supposed incident happened. The dpp is a woman and the easiest thing for a woman to do is claim abuse and the dpp dropped the charges. Morgan was my friend and this woman was a very jealous woman who would call him cussing him up and would fight with him whenever he gets home too late. One stab wound directly to the heart thru the chest cavity is very hard to do when you in the air being choked. It is easy however when someone is sleeping and cant defend themselves.

  4. Concerned says:

@OriginalWoman: There is something called SELF DEFENSE!! Nobody knows exactly what happened so how can you be so sure that it was murder????

  5. now i see says:

Concerned, my concern is why she was not charged, self defense or not, she should be charged especially since she admitted to the murder then proove that she defended herself. Belize is too laxwith those who commit murders. There is no real justice we can all see this is a well known fact. I wish I could read more about BELIZEANS demanding better justice, instead of so many being, killed and the killers not charged, or end up free, after a few years in jail. It just doesn’t’ sound right at all!!!!
