Expulsion order for Karol Mello granted on Monday, but not enforced

Karol Mello

The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted an order to stop the expulsion of a Slovakian national, Karol Mello, who was arrested without incident in San Pedro last Wednesday. Tonight, Mello remains in police custody. Mello, who is described as a mafia boss, is wanted for a double murder of a woman and child in Slovakia. But since 2010, he relocated to San Pedro and acquired permanent residency. He also has a Belizean born child. His fate still hangs in the balance because an expulsion order was reportedly issued dated Monday, but it was apparently not served on Mello, even while he was in police custody. It is also known that the government of Slovakia is prepared to send an aircraft to pick up Mello in Belize were he to be deported.

Why are there irregularities here that benefit someone who appears to be a danger to any community where he is present?

If there are international warrants, we don’t need him or any Mafia criminals from any country — and my guess is, now that his whereabouts are known, some nasty Mafia people will come here to deal with him differently than a Slovak court will. Do we need an Eastern European Mafia war here to pile on top of the cartels, Salvadoran, Honduran, and Guatemalan gangs, and our homegrown killers?

While his deportation process moves forward, I hope somebody will conduct a serious investigation into who refused to carry out the deportation order, and why. Were bribes paid? It’s a shame that question needs to be answered, but I think it does.

  2. Pavol says:

Karol Mello is innocent. These cases can not investigate, so they want to throw it. The Slovak police is anyone who is uncomfortable for them gangster. They accused him falsely. They do theater.

  3. Lucia says:

    police theater made in slovakia

Pay you money and you’ll be ok remember mello you are dealing with the most corrupt gov. In the world so just pay you money and you’ll be allowed to stay.

  5. Carter says:

He and his now deceased brother Ivan were mafia mobsters. They threatened and also killed several people here in Slovakia. Just try to google their names on some slova pages. Mafia boss Mikulas Cernak they did job with is now serving his life imprisonment sentence. If you are interested in more facts go through http://www.mafian.sk ..

Tick tock, tick tock, time is ticking. The Slovak is about to be set free. The Ali-BaBarrow government is just going through the motions keeping the !@#$%^&* cruffies happy. Get real folks, the Slovak walks.

Sit back, enjoy the show, but the Slovak walks free, no deportation, no excuses, the Slovak walks.

Hip hip hurray. Gawd, don’t you miss the old colonial days? God save Ali-BaBarrow and his merry thieves.

I am sure we all remember Tiburcio, the Guate-bad drug lord who last year was unceremoniously and without delay; kicked from Belize into Uncle Sam’s awaiting laps. Tiburcio and Carol have one thing in common which is, they both were granted Belizean permanent residency by Dean Barrow. This UDP govt.as we all know, has no shame and we all know it is broke. It takes people money without first doing proper security checks. I wonder how much the Slovak govt. is offerring this JUDAS?. Mr. Barrow needs to be extremely very careful. Added to the enemies he has made at home, Barrow is making enemies all around him. Tiburcio made a threat and if this man is indeed an under-ground boss, I would not be surprised if he takes vengeance. Mr Barrow needs to remember that in a few years he will have no official security and will be a sitting duck. Even if he moves to the U.S. WHAT A MAN SOWS THAT WILL HE REAP.

i think Belize is one of the few places in the world where residency and nationality is easy/cheap to get, i think the government should place close attention to this matter to avoid this type of issues, that could endanger our own country.
