Jose Mendez is granted bail for charges related to gas tank explosion

Jose Mendez, the man who cut the hose from a butane tank and triggered a mini explosion at his Orange Walk house was today granted bail on charges of Wounding and Arson. Mendez received burns on his hands and body; his common-law-wife was also injured. The incident on May twenty-fourth, was believed to have been an attempt by Mendez to end his own life because of a domestic dispute in which his common-law-wife had left him. With the assistant of his Attorney, Dickie Bradley, Mendez was today granted bail of ten thousand dollars at the Supreme Court. There were no objections to bail from the D.P.P.’s office.

  1. Storm says:

Everything else aside, if the man really was trying to commit suicide, I hope he is ordered to get some professional therapy. Life is too precious to waste, especially over something as temporary as depression or a broken romance — there are plenty of other fish in the sea, and the hunt will cheer him up!

  2. Elgin Martinez says:

This man is a threat not only to himself but also to the general public as a result why was he granted bail?He should have being placed on suicide watch instead. The DPP sucks .
