Why was there a delay in taking cops to court?

The delay in arraigning Cucul and Tush is not uncommon, says Officer in Charge of the Punta Gorda Police Department, Inspector Ernel Dominguez. Dominguez, who also acted as prosecutor in this case, says that only high risk detainees are handcuffed. He says that residents can be assured that due process will be followed in the cases of Tush and Cucul.

“There was some technical difficulties in delaying the process, however, from my point of view, it does not really defeat or obstruct justice in any way. When it comes to handcuff, generally, it is by principle sometimes persons are being handcuffed. It is not accustomed to handcuff persons; it is just sometimes by principles we do it if we believe there is something like a high risk or something like that. In this case, if you would notice, and many other cases, that it is not always everybody that the police escort is under handcuffed because sometimes the principle does not dictate that.”

“How comfortable can the residents be that you guys will do a thorough prosecution of one of your own?”

Insp. Ernel Dominguez

“I must assure the public that despite what happened, the police department has a responsibility to the community which they serve and that responsibility is to law enforcement to its utmost best—meaning that where offenders is concerned, we will ensure that the justice or the long arms of the law should extend to the fullest.”

Both Cucul and Tush were whisked to the Central Prison in Hattieville, along with several other prisoners, shortly after they were arraigned. They are to return to Court on September thirteenth.

If I beat a man to death with a baton, wouldn’t I qualify as a “high risk” criminal?

I HOPE that the police will handle this case by the book, but experience makes me fear they will not. A case file or evidence will go missing, and POOF! Two murderers back on the street, no doubt laughing all the way to the bank with back pay.

However it comes about there needs to be real justice for every murderer in the Jewel.

An independent body need to be assigned to this investigation.

Smarty pants, what is a high risk criminal? Two guys get in a quarrel by the market and end up in punching each other. Police to the rescue with handcuffs!!!!!!!! Compare that to two officials beating a helpless man to death. Which principle does not dictate for them to be handcuffed?
