So called serial rapist gets 15 years

He has beaten numerous charges for sexual offences, but on July thirty-first, the so-called serial rapist, Leroy Gomez, was convicted of the Rape and Robbery of a twenty-six year old woman, which occurred on August twenty-third, 2011. Gomez appeared before Justice Adolph Lucas for sentencing on Thursday and was given two fifteen year jail terms, which are to run concurrently. At the end of the trial, the jury unanimously found Gomez guilty of both charges after the victim gave a vivid testimony of how he robbed her, forced her into a yard on Administration Drive and raped her at gunpoint. The victim’s boyfriend, the arresting officer, the investigating officer and Doctor Jose Guerra were also summoned as witnesses for the prosecutor, Triennia Young. Gomez; who was unrepresented, called his mother-in-law as an alibi witness. She claimed that he was with her on the day of the rape.
At last this sick predator got justice. The women of the Jewel will have 15 years respite from him, at least.
I still think we must amend the rape law to require castration after conviction. Otherwise, sick people like him will continue to victimize women until they die.
Congratulations to prosecutor Young, the police, and especially the courageous victim. Well done, all.
And as for the wife and mother-in-law — what kind of people stay with a man with his rapacious past, and defend him when he rapes again? It’s indecent.
