PG man; accident or murder victim?

Descartes Santiago Bol

The investigation continues into the death of eighteen year old Santiago Bol. On Monday, we told you how the body of the PG resident was discovered on the road in that southern district. Initial investigations into Bol’s death had the markings of foul play, as Inspector Ernel Dominguez told us in an interview on Tuesday. The results of a post-mortem, however, listed the cause of death as massive liver damage and multiple traumatisms consistent with a road traffic accident. The circumstances surrounding Bol’s death remain unclear as the night before he was discovered dead, he was said to have been at a bar where he had an argument with another man. Bol left the premises and that was the last time he was seen alive. Dominguez says that when the body was discovered, there were visible cuts and abrasions on the body.

“I must say that on the twenty-sixth of August, some time at about five a.m, Punta Gorda Town police personnel acted upon information they received. They visited an area of some two hundred meters from the junction of San Marcos Village and the San Antonio PG Road, where they saw the lifeless body of a Hispanic male person lying on the right hand side of the road. As a result, the scene was processed where the body was removed and transported to the PG Town hospital where it was pronounced dead on arrival, by the doctor there. Initial investigation was carried out, where the name of the person was learnt to be Santiago Bol Jr, eighteen years old; Belizean Security Guard and resided on the Voice of America area in Punta Gorda Town.”

“Okay, did the police observe any marks or bruises on the body?”

Via Phone: Inspector Ernel Dominguez

“Yes, apparently he had a cut wound to the back of his right ears and also what appeared to be a cut wound on his face. He also had abrasions on the right side of his nose and abrasions in the chest area of the body. A bicycle was found nearby to where he was found.”

“Okay, I believe at the press conference here in the city, yesterday, Monday, the police referred to it as a sudden death.”

Via Phone: Inspector Ernel Dominguez

“Okay well what happened is that we suspect foul play in some way that presently we are waiting for the post mortem to confirm more or less that so that we can look in another direction as it relates to the investigation nuh. But so far we suspect foul-play in this situation.”

Andrea Polanco

“Now, you make reference to the post-mortem, do you have a time-line by when you guys would get the results?”

Via Phone: Inspector Ernel Dominguez

“From what I gathered; that post-mortem should’ve gone on by twelve mid-day today but we haven’t gotten word yet if it went through. However, we did make efforts for that to be done today.”

Andrea Polanco

“Alright.  Did the police receive any information that Bol was involved in an altercation a couple hours or so before he was discovered dead?”

Via Phone: Inspector Ernel Dominguez

“Apparently, there was some altercation and from our investigation that is what we understand. We are presently conducting our investigation so as to look at that aspect of the whole situation.”

The Punta Gorda police say they will be directing the investigation in light of the cause of death being a traffic accident. No one has been detained in connection with this accident.

It pains my heart to hear that Punta Gorda Police will direct their investigation in light of cause of death being a traffic accident. It is very obvious that this young lad corpse was place at the location. At the time of the discovery, there were no blood found on the pavement which indicate that the body was dumped at the location. Using their investigation skills, why don’t they find out from who the bicycle was borrowed from. They might just be able to give the police a lead. Why not go to the place where he was attending a birthday party and question the household members.

Yes it was said that he was misbehaving at a particular bar in Big Falls and that he was hand cuff by the special constable and placed behind the establishment. Where he went from there is every body question? This guy dead is not a traffic accident folks, he was murdered. Police need to step up on their investigation. In recent times, there are a number of murders occurred in Toledo and no one has been arrested. Come on Punta Gorda Police the people want justice.

They ruled the Post Mortem as Traffic Accident; What we know is that they knock him down intentionally and then place his body on the middle of the pavement in a sleeping position, placed his bicycle which had no signs of damage and then placed a cup of rum besides him….It is definitely foul play.

de special constables involved were not even detained??? dont worry bro, ure home nw!

  7. Mel says:

My condolences to the family . This sounds very suspicious. Was there blood at the scene? Who were these special constables? were they questioned?
Just because someone is a special constable or police does not make them innocent!
More investigation is required and common sense required.
