2 year old suffocated to death; who will be charged?

Death by suffocation; that is the result for the autopsy done late this afternoon by Doctor Mario Estradabran on the body of Kaylee Burgess, who would have celebrated her second birthday today. It’s a shocking revelation that has evidently ruled out any speculation that the child perished by drowning in a bucket of water on Wednesday at the home of her mother, Deidra Pratt. On Thursday authorities told News Five that the death was under investigation and that foul-play was suspected. And the result appears to have confirmed just that. The child was last in the custody of her aunt at the family home in the Japan Area of Ladyville. It was first alleged that she was missing—taken by the father, Kevin Burgess—but that was impossible because both Burgess and Pratt were in detention at the Ladyville Police Formation. And when officers were at the home investigating the broken windows, they walked past the bucket and never saw anything strange in the household. So if the results have shown that baby Kaylee was suffocated, who is responsible? The matter will now be further investigated. The family of Kevin Burgess says that the heart-wrenching news has left them in shock. News Five spoke with Burgess who was detained, then taken to court. Though people had told him his daughter had died, he didn’t believe. The grieving father says he wants justice.

“It was suffocation. The baby died from suffocation; not drown. They said it was drown but it’s not drown. They said it is not that.”

“Have to be. She got killed before. Someone put her back in the water; it’s not drown.”

“I’m just confused; I want to know if the mother know about it or if it is her aunt or who it is. I just want to get to the bottom of it and just get justice out of it. I couldn’t believe it. They mi di try say that I kidnap my daughter and I mi think all ah that dah mi wah joke. I neva know until the morning when dehn tell me my daughter died, I couldn’t help myself. I break down and I couldn’t help myself.”

“That’s while you were in detention?”

“That’s while I was in detention and then taken to court. I just know my daughter dead until today—just find out that she really dead for true.”
Burgess says he does not believe that Pratt could have killed Kaylee.
If Pratt can burn down his house, what would stop her from suffocating a child? Somebody did it. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. This case demands the best law enforcement minds to solve it.
This is one of the worst crimes to happen this year. I hope the murderer is caught and quickly hangs. No mercy for baby-killers.
It’s a case that points out the hopelessness that comes from girls getting pregnant by men who are not committed to them, and men having babies with women they barely know. Pregnancy is no game, it’s a life-changing event for all concerned.

I think its her brother. The minute I heard him explaining what happen that night. They should all get charged. Including the parents and the rest of the kids social take them away. They were having one kid a year or less.
Like they were a happy family. The chicken coop that was burn was their home. Now we all know why we have so much crime in Belize. Animals like this dont deserved kids. R.I.P. Little angel no one will hurt you anymore.

If both parents were detained or arrested, why weren’t these kids placed in the custody of the Human Services’ Department? Poor kids.

i think that they kill the child to blame it on the FATHER’s family…..its just kinda odd how she burn the house down then the same day the child went missing…..the next day the child is found dead?….come on men that got red flags all over it…..I personally fell that the mother let somebody kill the baby and now to divert the attention from her family wanna blame the father for it…..She’s mad n want him for herself…. so she kill the baby to get his attention. This is a very, very sad state of affairs and it sheds a lot of light on the fact that too many children are suffering as a result of bad relationships. Mothers I appeal to you, put your children first and no one else! They are innocent and they need you. When relationships dont work out, just walk away, do it for the love of your children! All the anger isnt worth it, all the suffering and dragging your children through the mud isnt worth it, if you truly love your children like you say you do, then do it for them! Pack them up, if you have somewhere to go and just get them out of the mess, you owe it to them, you really do! We are only aware of this case because it ended up tragically for a young, innocent child but how much more of our children are enduring these verbal and physical abuse at the hands of frustrated parents, simply because the relationship isnt working out…damn the mere thought of it makes me mad…..your children comes first! screw the no good ……. who refuse to man up, settle down and take thier responsibilities seriously! May God have mercy on your souls…RIP Kaylee!
it definitely has to do with the PM. they just gave Estradabran a 5 years contract and he is a bushdacta. nothing that he says can hold up in an international court. he is not a forensic pathologist
