PUMA, big in Africa and Central America, puts paw on Belize

If you frequent the pumps on the Northern Highway, specifically the Esso Ramon’s Gas Station near mile one and a half, you would note that the branding has changed to Puma. That is because since July of this year, Puma Energy, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing midstream and downstream oil companies with operations in thirty countries has taken over the former Esso stronghold. The new and rebranded service station is one of ten gas stations to be redesigned under the billion dollar company and it was officially inaugurated today. News Five spoke with Manager of Puma Energy Belize, Freddy Flores, who spoke of this major milestone and the future for Puma in Belize.

Freddy Flores

“We are very excited to have Puma in Belize. In July of this year, we launched the Puma name and brand and we pretty much detailed what our intentions are in Belize; the investments. We find that it’s very important for us to show that we are serious about investing in Belize. We are serious about our brands, our look, our image and of course we are very serious about having high quality fuel in Belize, high quality standards, high quality customer service and safety of course. And we hope that the general public will appreciate and love the service station. This is what we do; we are doing this for this.  This is the first of ten service stations that we are branding countrywide and so it is very important that we keep the image intact—every single service station will look exactly the way it is—and of course we are doing a promotion at the end of each branding to provide a reward to our customers. Our service is a full service at the service station. When you come, our staff are well trained and knowledgeable of whatever questions you may have: about the products, about the services we have, about the items that we have. So you will not only come to get fuel, but you will get a bit of knowledge of what’s going on at the service station.”
