GSU suppresses ammunition and drugs

Michael Cambranes

The Gang Suppression Unit took its operations up north on Wednesday. At around five-thirty a.m., a search warrant was executed at the residence of twenty-three year old Lyndon Heredia in the San Lorenzo housing area in Orange Walk. Two point six grams of cannabis were found inside a room being occupied at the time by twenty-one year old Michael Cambranes of Belize City and a seventeen year old male minor of San Andres Street, Orange Walk. Both were arrested and charged for Possession of Controlled Drugs. They were arraigned at the Orange Walk Magistrates Court, where Cambranes pleaded guilty and was fined five hundred dollars, which he had to pay forthwith. The charges against the minor were subsequently withdrawn. After the raid at Heredia’s house, his Ford Mustang Car was also searched. Nothing illegal was found in the vehicle, but Heredia did not have his documents in order and was charged for driving without a license and vehicle insurance. The GSU says that Heredia was targeted because he is a reputed affiliate of the Ghost Town Crips Gang based in Belize City.

Randy Dominguez

On the way back from Orange Walk, the GSU stopped at the Biscayne Village home of twenty-two year old Randy Dominguez, who was wanted since December 2011 when four sixteen gauge cartridges were found at his house. During that search, Dominguez’ common-law wife, Nathalie Coleman was at the house alone. But Dominguez was surprised by the GSU on Wednesday and has been arrested for Keeping Unlicensed ammunition. He is reportedly a reputed affiliate of the George Street Bloods Gang. The GSU also made a stop in Sandhill Village and searched an open lot near the Nineteen Miles Supermarket. Twenty-four small parcels of foil paper containing cannabis which amounted to fifty-one grams were found inside a Big H Juice container. No one was in the area at the time, but the drugs are believed to be the property of a reputed drug peddler in the village.
