Insp. Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer
“At eleven a.m. CIB personnel visited the KHMH where they saw Richard McKoy suffering from an apparent stab wound to the upper left side of his back. Initial investigation reveals that at about 10:30 a.m. McKoy visited the residence of his ex-common-law wife. An altercation ensued between himself and the new boyfriend Lionel Neal and McKoy is alleging that Neal took out a pocket knife and inflicted the injury to him. Police are looking for Lionel Neal in connection with this report. We know that Lionel Neal is a twenty-eight year old laborer and he is known to the police so we are hoping to detain him soon.”
Also in the hot seat was thirty-one year old Carlos Chuc, who was charged with Attempted Murder, Use of Deadly Means of Harm and Wounding upon Police Constable, Ervin Pech and Common Assault upon PC Wilmer Jimenez. Reports are that Pech and Jimenez were waiting at a Ladyville bus stop when an intoxicated Chuc began cursing at them. When Jimenez told him about his behavior, Chuc allegedly threw a piece of orange at his face. A struggle ensued, in which Jimenez was punched in the face and when Pech intervened Chuc allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him on the left side of the head. No plea was taken when Chuc appeared before Magistrate Sharon Frazer and he has been remanded until November fifth.
