   Here’s a question that I feel merits media investigation: exactly who is American Sugar Refinery?

   But to directly answer the poll question, ASR SHOULD pass through to the cane farmers some of the intended economic benefit [that is to say, greater profits to distribute and take home]of the special tax scheme. If the long-range purpose was not to strengthen and stimulate the cane industry in that way, and help Belizean farmers, which will in turn “trickle down” to their local communities, then what is the purpose of the special deal?

   I sure hope no bribes changed hands in the process.
