Are charges pending for suffocation of infant?
For the third time, the aunt of baby Kaylee Burgess has been picked up by the police. Kaylee was murdered at her home in Ladyville on September fifth, two days prior to her second birthday. Since the killing, several relatives have been detained and questioned and now, aside from eighteen year old Saphira Pratt, Kaylee’s granduncle, Gabriel Mejia Senior, is also in police custody. News Five understands that the duo was detained on Tuesday night and is being held at the Queen Street Police Station. Both of Kaylee’s parents, Kevin Burgess and Deidra Pratt, are seeking justice for their second child and have been back and forth to the police station. It was initially said that Kaylee drowned in a bucket of water, but an autopsy showed that she was suffocated. It is now exactly three weeks since the murder and on Saturday, starting at three p.m., mothers of Ladyville are staging a protest from Carol Quilter’s house through the streets of the Japan Area and ending at the football field where a candle light vigil will occur.
Kaylee’s spirit deserves justice, and her murderer should hang. What community lets baby-killers live among them?
Put in jail the stupid parents of little angel Kaylee because of there stupidnes she is dead. Make sure she cant have anymore kids.
How can a family member take the life of an innocent relative, that needed their protection, not violence.. This helpless child who probably liked these people, and as the mother is running around looking for the child someone knew where that child was all the time. The father and mother in jail and all the time somebody knew what had happened. I will be very surprised if anyone is charged for this crime and it is so lame that even if they are charged they may not be convicted.
So sad an innocent child dies & don’t want to tell the truth, them Belizean becoming just like the Americans killing their own kids smh R.I.P lil Angel
