String of burglaries; KG’s Phonetech hit hard

Meanwhile, back in the city, residents were terrorized by robbers and thieves over the weekend. A string of burglaries and robberies in the Old Capital were reported, beginning with a break-in at an electronics store on Cemetery Road sometime on Thursday night.  KG’s Phonetech, a business belonging to Katrina Garbutt was hit by thieves sometime after seven p.m. last Thursday.  Stolen from the store was a variety of items amounting to fifteen thousand dollars in value.  While there is no word on the recovery of the items, one man has been detained pending questioning.

“Ms. Katrina Garbutt, a businesswoman of Burrell Boom Village, Belize District, reported that sometime between the hours of 7:10 p.m. on Thursday and 6:10 a.m. on Friday 19th, October 2012, her business place, namely K.G.’s Phonetech, located at 101 Cemetery Road in Belize City, had been burglarized and stolen from there were an assortment of cell phones, phone accessories, Apple Ipad tablets, male and female wrist and finger watches and other electronic items valued at approximately fifteen thousand dollars.  Police have since detained a Belize City man for questioning regarding this incident. Another burglary in Belize City, Mr. Ismael Flores, a taxi driver of Belize City, reported that sometime between the hours of seven a.m. and eleven a.m. on Thursday, 18th October his two bedroom concrete house was burglarized and stolen from there were electronic items and cell phones all to a value of one thousand, one hundred and forty-five dollars Belize and no one has since been detained for this incident.  Police continue their investigation.”

 

And in an update to another recent robbery, a sixteen year old minor has been arrested for an armed hold up at Lakers Mini Mart on October seventeenth. He was charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

    We don’t want to hear your nonsensical explanations Raphael we want to hear what Thai gov is doing to prevent these crimes we don’t need you to tell us about crime every person in Belize knows about crime from they open their eyes at birth they are being robbed by thieves and this gov. We want to hear what you and this incompetent pm and gov. Is doing tp prevent crime .
