Suspected cocaine sniffed out

On Saturday October twenty-fifth, members of the Anti Drug Unit along with the K-nine Unit conducted a vehicular check point at the junction of the Southern Highway and Hopkins Village. A blue Richie’s Bus travelling from the direction of Independence Village to Dangriga was stopped. A brown knapsack belonging to twenty-five year old Garrel Deon Flowers of Placencia was sniffed out by the dogs and then searched by police, who discovered a package wrapped in duct tape. Police cut open the package in the presence of Flowers and it contained a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. Police then detained Flowers who was escorted to the Hopkins Police Station and the suspected cocaine was weighed, amounting to one Kilo. He was further escorted to the Dangriga Police Station pending charges of Drug Trafficking.

Good job ADU and the K-nine, I hope this sets the precidence for the rest of the K-nine and ADU stationed in the other disticts. I will be looking out to read more of these kinds of press releases. It gives the rest of the community hope that there are good police officers left.
