Ladyville resident busted for hiring undocumented migrant workers

Also in the courts, a group of women were hauled before a magistrate because they were illegally working in the country. But instead of the employees, it’s the employer who got charged. Twenty-two year old Sandra Carballo, the owner of Blue House Bar in Ladyville was arrested after six women of various nationalities were found working at her establishment. The six employees are Honduran nationals: Elsy Fuentes Damarys and Karen Melissa Carbajal; Guatemalan nationals: Jacklyn Orellana, Aurora Mora and Lesvia Toledo and Nicaraguan national: Norma Margarita Zuniga. They all got lucky and were promised immunity from charges such as illegal entry in exchange for their testimony against their boss. 
But when Carballo appeared in court, she did not fight the allegations and pleaded guilty to six counts of employing a person not in possession of a working permit. She was fined a total of five thousand, five hundred dollars; three thousand to be paid immediately and the balance by January thirty-first 2013. According to Immigration Personnel, they visited Blue House Bar at around three o’clock on Tuesday evening and found the women sitting behind the bar. When asked, none of them had a valid work permit to show. They were taken into custody and while being taken to the Immigration Office, they admitted that they were working illegally as waitresses at the bar.

@rubs…i happy that you state that spanish people work…yes they are hardworking unlike other dark skinned people that just ask and beg for dollar…and they do not destroy couples..people go to those bars by thier own free will..and they know what they will find there…

Hmmm seems a lot like Racial Profiling wrapped up in little racially charged bigotry. Rod let’s not detract from the fact that they were illegal and a potential health hazard. Yup I said it a HEALTH HAZARD and it has nothing to do with their race as you may or may not know (my money is on the not knowing part) sex workers are more at risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease that non-sex workers (ordinary women) and the worst part is that the men that proposition these women for sex are probably married or in a relationship; this causes the statistic to grow by almost double when they go home and infect their innocent partners. So my friend you always yell up and down about Belize being such a horrible place… imagine a large segment of the population unable to work because they are sick due to sexually transmitted diseases, some of which may be ultimately fatal. But actually this potential catalyst to an economic collapse may be a good thing because maybe then you will be left with the choice of whether to eat or pay for internet… rest assured I think you will choose to eat, thus vanquishing yourself from spewing your ignorant hate and from hiding behind the anonymity of the World Wide Web. So be forewarned, if I see you screaming out your hate from the festering pustule that is your mouth on the some random street corner I am coming for my 15 seconds back ROD!
The police can find something like this but they can’t find the killers in the street? Over 100 killiings and only solved 3, according to a earlier post. Just reading the news makes me scared to ever want to live in Belize again. This Government have to GO. They are useless and serve the country no good.
