Prior to age of consent relationship, but consummated when legal

In January of this year, twenty-three year old Jason Tingling was accused of Carnal Knowledge by a high school student who claimed he had sex with her on four occasions between June 2010 when she was only fourteen and November, 2011.  The allegations landed Tingling behind bars for twenty-one days before he was released on bail. His mother was arrested when allegations were made that she was suppressing evidence and had threatened the minor’s mother. But today, the now seventeen year girl confessed in the court of Senior Magistrate, Sharon Frazer that she lied about the series of events that led to Tingling’s arrest. Firstly, the teen says she lied to Tingling about her age and claimed she was seventeen years old when they first got involved. She was also untruthful when she claimed that they were sexually active between June 2010 and November 2011; they did have sex, but it happened later in the relationship, when she was above the age of consent. The retraction of the allegations resulted in four counts of Unlawful Carnal Knowledge being withdrawn and Tingling was freed.
