Vehicle and horse and vehicle and lamppost collide
Two men are lucky to be alive in separate traffic accidents in which the vehicle they were driving was extensively damaged and they escaped with minor injuries. A vehicle travelling towards Belize City slammed into a horse crossing the road. The horse died shortly after, and the driver received abrasions from the impact. In the second incident approximately a mile and a half away and also on the George Price Highway, a white Mitsubishi SUV crashed into a lamppost in front of the Foam Factory and was left entangled in electrical wires. The driver, Santiago Chicas, lost control of the vehicle which then rammed into the lamppost before coming to a stop. Police Press Officer, Raphael Martinez, refers to the mishaps as minor traffic accidents.

At approximately twelve-fifty-seven a.m., police visited that area and they saw a white 2006 Mitsubishi Endeavor extensively damaged. It is reported that Santiago Chicas received a right front tire blowout in that area which caused him to lose control of his vehicle which caused him to lose control of his vehicle and subsequently hitting a light post. Mister Chicas received minor injuries and he was served with notice of intended prosecution pending the outcome of the investigation.”

Me and my friend both told the Police about the Horse on the road on Saturday night. So the Police should be hold accountable for the damage. And even when I passed the Horse a traffic department pickup was ahead of me and even they did not do anything about it. When we told the Police we ask them please to take care of the Horse because someone could be killed but they did not seem to care…
Police later charged the horse with aggravted assault. He was released from police custody, however, because it was his first offense.
