Only 1 P.U.P., but former P.U.P. standard bearer removed from party meeting

As we reported on Friday there is a turf war in the Corozal Bay where the former opposition standard bearer Gregorio “Papas” Garcia was removed at a sudden closed door meeting on Saturday. The constitution of the People’s United Party is explicit that elections for the constituency’s executive must be held only with prior notice, including the publication of dates. That did not take place but the elections proceeded at an undisclosed location during which Garcia was removed and so were a number of persons considered friendly to him. According to the Garcia camp, he is considered an ally of the former party leader, John Briceno, whose stronghold in the north is being resisted.
Like the Kilkenny cats, let these corrupt parties devour themselves. We can do better than PUP or UDP.

I hear they did the same in Cayo, but one “candidate” is so unpopular he could not form an entire committee; and some of those whom he appointed recommended outright that he no longer serves as a candidate. Hmmmmmmmm.
