Brother killed as gunman enters home

Raphael Martinez

A fourth person was executed on Sunday afternoon in a Crime Ridden Area which was under B.D.F. and police presence. Twenty-two year old William Felix Francis, a resident of Mahogany Street Extension, was killed in a hail of bullets inside his home.  Shortly after one o’clock Francis and his brother were conversing with each other when they were accosted by a lone gunman.  While the elder sibling managed to escape the vicious attack, Francis wasn’t so lucky.  The murderer unleashed a torrent of bullets at Francis, which found their marks in his left hand, left side of his chest, left side of the neck, the back of the neck and right eye.  According to Police Press Officer Raphael Martinez, scenes of crime technicians recovered eight expended shells from inside the residence.

“Also on Sunday, the twenty-fifth November, at approximately one fifteen p.m., police visited #118 Mahogany Street Extension in Belize City where they saw twenty-two year old William Felix Francis of the same address lying inside his house with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. Initial investigation reveals that at approximately one p.m. thereabouts, Francis was inside his house talking with his brother when a dark complexion male person dressed in black shirt entered the house pointing a pistol at them and asking for somebody. Upon seeing this, William’s brother ran and jumped through his window leaving William Felix behind. Shortly thereafter, several gun shots were reportedly heard from inside the house. The brother reportedly returned and found William Felix Francis lying on the floor injured.  Eight expended shells, one slug and particles of slug were retrieved from the scene. William Felix Francis was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival at two-oh-seven p.m. Police are seeking a Belize City man for questioning regarding that murder.”

  6. Belizean says:

I Find these issues and headlines ironic. History has shown us that the last election was won by the UDP. They won cause the won most of the seat in the Belize district, Belize city mostly. Belize city is officially the worst part of thee country. Confirm by themselves when they they declared areas of the city crime ridden. I don’t agree with rod. This government is not incompetent, it is a bunch of oppertunist. They do not honestly want change, but instead want power. Belize city has a majority of it population to be class as young people, early seduced by these power hungry politician. True change is never going to come from a politician, but from the people. Belizean we need to put aside or peety issues and work together. That the hardest thing to do, but the only thing that would work.

  7. Bear says:

@Belizean, that was a powerful and brilliant post.

This killer was pretty bold, executing a man in the heart of a police-occupied area [Crime Ridden Area — CRA]. How does he get into the occupied area with a gun, murder someone with at least 8 loud gunshots, and escape?

Maybe the CRA program was just needed for a press release.

In the end, I hope justice is dealt to the murderer — at the end of a rope or the practical equivalent.

  8. Sick of this says:

Rod, im sick of all your comments. you keep saying about change and about marching to make a difference. if you so believe that this will work, why don’t you organize something? Action speaks louder than words. Im sick of all you stupid comments. find something better to say or do apart from making all these silly comments on every issue.
