Please donate! Toy Drive for Faber’s Road and Pinks Alley kids

Edmond Staine

Tis the season to be jolly and some enterprising residents of Faber’s Road and Pinks Alley hope to make the wishes of the neighborhood kids come true. The trio comprised of Edmond Staine, Ada Toro and Brian Dena have shown community spirit before with free back to school haircuts and hair braiding sessions. But now they say the Christmas toy drive is only one of the initiatives that they hope will show a positive example to the kids in the two neighborhoods.

Edmond Staine, Organizer, Toy Drive

“Trying to have a Christmas party for the Kids in the Faber’s road area as well as the kids in the pinks alley area. This is all a part of a greater initiative that we have as inspirational promotions. What we are trying to do is develop a big brother system for the kids in the area. We don’t like the fact that the kids nowadays don’t have any self-worth. I commend people that are trying to have a Christmas drive because it will create a level playing field for the kids. When you meet people like Major John Flowers from the Belize Port Authority and Mr. Michael Teus; they encourage the promotion that we are doing. We have many different thngs that we have planned for the New Year and this is one of the new initiatives we are trying to bring about.”

“Ada we know you did free hair braiding for the kids in the neighborhood; what is your new idea?”

Ada Toro

“Well my new idea this year is to have a children’s party a Christmas party for kids them and reach out to kids that are not only unfortunate but to give them a gift but to put a smile on their faces. We usually deal with kids from children home. But sue to the fact that I live through Pink’s Alley; we want to reach out to the kids in that route and Faber’s road. And we just want to put a smile basically on their faces and we do it from our heart.”

Jose Sanchez

“Brian you also normally do the free haircuts for the kids in the neighborhood and also through Majestic Alley; If someone wants to reach out to you and participate in the Toy Drive how do they reach in contact with you?”

Brian Dena

“They can contact me at 637-5728; that’s Brian and also Edmond at 631-7303.”

“We have stepped into music and also construction. We are trying to get more contracts and keeping people positive so we are trying to find employment opportunities as well. Trying to make a greater difference for the people and the youth in the Faber’s Road area especially the Southside at large. With this Christmas drive we are trying to incorporate the whole community; have the community contribute to it. We are trying to bring the community together Because we find now that the communality is divided, and it takes a community to raise a child; so we are trying to focus on the children so that the next generation can be better.”

If you would like to contribute to the Pinks Alley and Faber’s Road toy drive, the numbers are 637-5728 and 631-7303.
