Have you seen Scott? He ran from home
There are regular reports from the police about teens and children who go missing. The incidents don’t regularly make the evening news because within a day, the youths return home. But in this case Elvira Thompson of the Cayo District knows that her thirteen year old son has fled home. It’s not the first time that Scott Thompson has run away from home, but it has been over a week since she has seen her child who needs medication.
Elvira Thompson, Mother of Missing Boy
“My son has constantly run away. But he has a learning disability and he is on medication. The last time he ran was last week Sunday. I sent him and sister to go shopping. Just to the shop that is near to me and he went and he didn’t come back. And then i proceeded on Monday to look for him. Early in the morning; I saw him in the morning. I called him and asked him and I told him let’s go home. And he ran away from me and he went through the bushes in San Ignacio by the river side and he didn’t come back.”

“So it’s about nine days now since you’ve seen your son.”
Elvira Thompson
“Yes sir. The last place that he’s been seen is Belize City. First they saw him Ladyville and I went up there and they told me that he was in Belize City. That was the last place; ever since I’ve been looking for him and I can’t find him up to now.”
Jose Sanchez
“You said he is on medication, does he have his medication with him?”
Elvira Thompson
“No he is on medication but he is not taking his medication at the moment.”
Jose Sanchez
“If someone would like to reach you if they see your son; do you have a number that they can instantly reach you or the investigating officer?”
Elvira Thompson
“They can reach me at six two four seventy six twenty one that’s my phone number.”
Again if you see thirteen year old Scott Thompson, please call his mother at 624-7621.
I hope this ends well. I wish GOB would devote more resources to help families like this, where the children have special problems. They can’t all be fixed, but without resources and effort, none of them will be fixed. My guess is that if our PM had a special needs child there would be a lot more effort and resources directed to the problem. My own belief is that the least of us deserves as much support as our aristocrats.
Fortunately the police had safely returned Scott Thompson to his mother… it’s must be a really sad situation for the family when he runs away…
Perhaps I did, but I’ll never know due to his invisible photo.
Why would he want to run away in the first place is my question
