End of Mayan calendar coincides with aborted Xunantunich concert?
On Wednesday night, we reported that the closure of Xunantunich in the height of the Maya Celebrations was being opposed by tour guides and vendors in Succotz Village. Well, there is some development which indicates that a planned concert at the Mayan site has now been postponed, which means that the site will not have to close in December. Tech Light Group Incorporated, which was to do the lighting for the concert, reports on their Facebook on Wednesday that the postponement is necessary “due to talent issues.”
Some great questions were posed by others yesterday in these comments, like who is producing the concert, who is promoting it, who is appearing [really good questions since there was reported to be no working website for the concert], who is providing and paying for security, does the producer actually have the financial strength to complete it, who approved it in GOB, and did anyone assess the environmental impact to an archaeological site of having hundreds or thousands of attendees partying on the ancient Mayan ruins?
Now maybe there is time for GOB and the press to put some sunlight on this project.
The ppl from succotz should b happy now that they post-poned the “imaginary concert” that they said they were having!!! And now on the 21 the ppl should celebrate or commemorate our ancestors which ar the Maya!!
Im a Maya descendant and those ppl were going to disturb our Ancestors who are buried there or died there, if they wouldn’t post-poned i would HEX them cause it is very Disrespectful 4 them to do dat!!!
Suppose we go somewhere and make a concert and c if they would like it too!!!!

I WONDER HOW IT COMES THAT NOW NICH IS ORGANIZING THIS BIG HUGE MUSICAL FESTIVAL WHEN OUR TEACHERS WHERE PROHIBITED TO PLAY A SMALL RADIO OR TAPE RECORDER WITH THE EXCUSE THAT THE VIBRATION WOULD BREAK THE WALLS OF THE TEMPLE. IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE!!!
