Top cop’s son, Leal Jr., shames name with 43 pounds of weed
Twenty-seven year old Noel Richard Leal Junior, the son of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, was busted on Thursday afternoon with some forty-three pounds of marijuana. The drug was found in two vehicle tires he was carrying in the pan of his Ford pick-up truck. Leal was intercepted by a police patrol on a road leading to Clarissa Falls. The Belize City resident, of a Buttonwood Bay address, was arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking. He appeared in the San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court today and was remanded to Central Prison until January twenty-ninth when he is to re-appear in Court.
Asst Supt. Dinsdale Thompson, Officer in Charge, Benque Police
“Duane sometimes yesterday around one-thirty p.m., Benque Viejo Police officers were out on mobile patrol when they intercepted a grey pickup truck driven at the time by Mister Noel Richard Leal Junior. Upon search carried out on the vehicle, they discovered that there were twelve plastic bag parcels which was inside of two separate tires that was inside the said pan of the truck. The police searched and upon further investigation of the package, discovered that the contained substance of that appears to be marijuana. He has been arrested and was charged for drug trafficking. He was arraigned in the Magistrate’s Court this morning in San Ignacio where he was remanded until a date in January 2013.”
“The parcels have been weight. What is the quantity? I understand it is a very substantive quantity.”
Asst Supt. Dinsdale Thompson
“Upon weighing the parcels, all twelve of them, we understand that they are carrying some forty-three and three-quarter pounds of suspected marijuana.”
“That’s a lot and a major bust for the Benque Viejo Police.”
Asst Supt. Dinsdale Thompson
“In this time yes, Duane we are carrying out consistent and continual operation and so this is one of the results from our operation that we are carrying out in this time and season.”
Thompson says that the routine traffic checks are yielding results and that they have been confiscating vegetables and fruits that are being brought in as contraband. The cops are working together in the Belize Agricultural Health Authority to deal with these cases.
good job, now get a conviction.
Remember The World is Watching…
Good Job Mr. Thompson.
Substantial amount of Mariguana=substantial amout of time behind bars.
No Christmas gift fu Junior dis yaw.
His defense will be that he did not know the drugs was in the tires. He was carrying these tires for some other person. This guy felt that because of whose son he is, he was protected and above suspicion. Just another case of someone thumbing their nose at the law, the very law that his father is paid to uphold. I will watch the outcome of this one. I want to see how much daddy will limpact this case, my guess is that it will go no where, if it does I will be surprised.
WELL DONE, POLICE!
My heart jumps to know that there are still enough honest officers to enforce the law, no matter who breaks it.
Will DPP and the courts have the same integrity?
The chip doesn’t fall far from the block…or more aptly, the leaves doesn’t fall far from the tree (pun intended)
messed up my weekend!!!!
very good, horray to benque cops. KEEP UP DOING THE GREAT JOB.. And i hope this guy doesn’t get preferrence in prison.
What is the definition of suspected Mariguana?Who in Belize don’t know what weed is?
@ Twosweetinez…… only a certified chemist may determine if those buds are cannibis sativa L, from which the resin has not been extracted. Until that test is carried out…… it is just suspected marijuana.
Take it to court without that confirmation and Dickie Bradley will have the entire prosecution department looking like Kunnu Munnu. Trust mi pan dis wahn.
Listen to all you fools babble,………None of you can stop the weed/narcotic flow!!!
@K.Myvett
it’s not that we want to stop weed/narcotic flow, but the reality behind it, look at the big picture
the son of the Assist. Comi. of police involved in drug trafficking, where’s the morality to this?
And we all know that this will end in nothing since his dad is the top guy with the power to do it slip under the rug thing.
This is what we’re babbling K.Myvett. if they would find a regular Joe with a stick of weed he definitely would be in jail right now until these holidays with a serious time jail while this son of a high rank police might be on bail only in a few hrs or days.
Da nuh wey yu no da who yu no. Get my drift.
Parents can only do so much in raising up a child. When kids become of age they make their own decision. We as parents teach them good morals but its up to them to carry on what they have been tought
All they gotta do now, is make sure that they [babylon boy] dont pull no under the table conviction. aka probation or comunity service.
“confiscating vegetables and fruits that are being brought in as contraband”
Ok, what about what is going OUT of the country?
How much cattle is going out of the country as contraband at the Bullet Tree falls?
ALL DAYS OF THE WEEK …AND CHECK POINT RIGHT THERE!!!!
HOW MUCH MONEY THE GUATEMALAN TAXI DRIVERS ARE TAKING OUT OF THE COUNTRY EVERY DAY?
ADD THAT FOR A WEEK, THEN A YEAR, AND ALL YEARS TO COME!!!!
THEN WE SAY NO MONEY NO DEH!!!
CONGRATS GUATES, BELICE ES NUESTRO !!!
THANKS SAN IGNACIO TOWN BOARD FOR ALL LICENSE SOLD TO THE GUATEMALANS!!!!
True if it was any other person they would surely be behind bars righ
t now! We cant stop the flow of weed, true! But the can sure make an example out of this one!
No community work or bail! Jail time!
Courts have to get strict with these laws punished who should be punished.
Regardless of who is who or who knows who.
