Special Branch sting operations yield drugs and ammo
A series of sting operations by the Special Branch of the Police Department has led to the seizure of drugs and ammunition. On Saturday around three p.m., a search conducted at the residence of twenty-five year old Michael Hulse led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing twenty-nine transparent ziplock bags with two hundred and twenty-three grams of cannabis. Also present at the time of the search were twenty year old Lester Vergo and twenty-one year old Melchizedek Silva. The trio were arrested and charged for “Drug Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Drug. Three hours later, another search, this time in an abandoned lot in the Saint Martin De Porres Area, led to the discovery of a white plastic bag containing seven live rounds of nine millimeter ammunition.
And just after seven p.m., at an abandon lot in the Caesar Ridge Road Area near to the beach side, a Crystal water bottle was found with a sixty-six rounds of assorted ammunition. The searches continued into Sunday and an early morning search in an abandoned lot in the Jane Usher Boulevard Area, with the assistance of the K-9 unit, led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing four hundred and eighty-five grams of cannabis. And exactly twelve hours later, the search of another abandoned lot on Vernon Street led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing three transparent bags with ninety grams of cannabis. No one was found in the area and the drugs were labeled as Found Property.
I admire and appreciate the aggressive work of these police. I hope they keep it up. Belize should never become a comfortable place for drug dealers, armed bandits, and other vermin.
I hope this serves as a wake up call for these young guys!
They have their future ahead of them especially Lester Vergo. I know Lester Vergo Sr. and if he was alive today he would be very disappointed in this incident.
Guys think about your future and use this as a learning experience and get on the right track!
