Police know nothing of 2 weekend murders and Colombian drug bust

The postmortem examination on Vera’s body was conducted today at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. During this morning’s police briefing, there was no mention of Vera’s murder. Apparently even though it occurred sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, it was not reported. Then there is murder number one hundred and forty-one which occurred in Dangriga. Twenty-two year old Robert Pinnock was fatally stabbed once to the left side of the chest under the armpit allegedly by his relative. According to Dangriga Police, Pinnock was socializing and drinking at an event with several persons including his cousin, Glenford Chavez. The circumstances that led to the murder are still under investigation, but police say that Chavez allegedly took a knife and fatally stabbed Pinnock.  Chavez has since been arrested and charged for murder.

The police also did not report that murder at the weekly press briefing.  There was however, a series of drug busts that were reported. News Five asked about the Colombian boat and four other men who were found in Independence Village.  They are thirty five year old Cessar Godoy, twenty-four year old Lester Davis, and forty two year old Iron Santos; all alleged Honduran nationals as well as thirty year old John Balamba, a Colombian national.  They were caught in very suspicious circumstances that resulted in the Special Branch of police heading to Independence to investigate. When asked about the incident this morning, the officers did not know about it either.

Oops. I guess the police press office was down for the holiday.

Whatever the circumstances of these murders were, let’s hope the killers meet harsh justice in the end.
