McAfee explains how he “escaped” questioning in Belize

Now, for the man who jumped out of the frying pan and landed in the fire, or rather a detention cell in Guatemala. John McAfee, the American national who police wanted to question about the murder of his neighbor Gregory Faull, is back in the United States, following a creative and entertaining time on the lam which he documented on his online blog. McAfee posted that he escaped Belize because of rain. He said he never heard of police or the Belize Defense Force soldiers stopping cars in rain, so that was when he made his move on the Southern Highway. He also took a picture of a soldier leaning on the hood of a vehicle at a checkpoint and claimed he had a body double ready in case that didn’t work. Nonetheless, after his detention in Guatemala, he was deported to the USA where he continued to speak of his innocence in South Florida. The following is an excerpt given to reporters near the Beacon Hotel.

I hope McAfee does not give up and brings down the Belize government and country for what they have done to him.
Just based on what he says about himself, that’s one evil, drug-addled dude. He’s got a bad eternity coming to him.
I hope our police have not given up on solving Mr. Faull’s murder, and that whoever is guilty is punished to the full extent of the law.
It’s too bad that McAfee evaded questioning by the police, and that they couldn’t develop a case and issue a warrant for his arrest before he reached the sanctuary of the States. But the game isn’t ended yet, and I hope for justice for the victim.

Why do my fellow Belizeans waste their time reporting on scum like Mcafee. There are important issues to write or report about. All that is being done is :adding to his 15 mins of fame.
McAfee, like other pathetic expats should get a life and get the hell out of Belize. Please go back where you came from. Our nation is already in turmoil stay the hell away ………..

He was a crazy man walking around with big guns and body guards all over carmelita village in orange walk, threatening the youths to be in their homes by 7 pm or else. They were the ones who asked the GSU for help to check on this madman. Why would a born and bred belizean cheer for macafee? i cant belive this fool when i read Eye and mjm ‘s comments.

Isn’t he being sued for some unexplained murder from 1992, back in the USA? Is this why he ran to Belize?

@Eye in the sky…how can u take a man who is such an addict seriously. Some people smoke pot and they are still productive, some people even do coke and are productive. McAffee may have been productive at one point but now he is just a plain old addict. He just happenst to be famous due to his antiviurs program and he is the biggest DRAMA QUEEN in years and the MEDIA HOUSES LOVE IT. Belize is like many young nations in the world, we are struggling to survive and i am proud of what we have done so far. But YOU MUST BE A FOOL to Mcafee seriously. His addiction has run so far that pot, coke do not satisfy the “high” he is looking for. So now he has to drug himself by placing that nasty “bast salts” UP HIS BUTT!!!!(OMG). and you want to take him seriously…hmmm..birds of feather…..

that police don’t check at check points during rain, Check ( 90% of the time the police at mile 4 western highway remains in the booth). so what the fuss about. the man is definitely not lying .
Oh yes, the rain, and weekends and holidays. I love them. That is how I made my millions running the ganja in the 80’s. I always made my big runs when it was raining, or the weekends & holidays. You know the police to lazy to work. Hurricane coming, that is even a better time to make big drug runs. I made a fortune and invested in legitimate business and now am sitting pretty. Belize is so easy to make easy dirty money. Just look around.

NO ONE – I repeat no one knows if Chad Essley is in contact with John McAfee.
I believe the blog to be a detailed hoax in an attempt to monetize from a sick mans mental health issues. Why would McAfee contact Chad Essley? Chad is a nobody. This news is being spread like it is real news when in fact – McAfee is not posting on the blog, Chad Essley is and has admitted it!!!
Unless it comes from John McAfee directly and a credible news source then it is not factual or something John McAfee said. It is hearsay and is being reported as if all you journalists know for certain that john McAfee is involved with the blog – and you don’t. You have absolutely no idea if Chad Essley is in contact with John McAfee.
McAfee is dumb and crazy and the Belizean media is stupid to give this fool coverage.
