New Ombudsman, Lionel Arzu, sworn in
A brief swearing-in ceremony was held in Belmopan earlier today during which forty-five year-old Lionel Arzu was inducted as the new ombudsman. Arzu demits his post as an educator at Julian Cho Technical High School to succeed former ombudsman Cynthia Pitts. The formalities took place this morning in the presence of Governor-General Sir Colville Young. Prior to his appointment, Arzu, who holds a Master’s of Science Degree in International Commerce, was also an adjunct lecturer at the University of Belize, Toledo Campus.
This is a silly action of a silly clown to another silly clown. But all this silliness will cost us more money.
Another black that is not qualified for the job ,but is just given the job because he is black this ya pm is so prejudice yon funny ,if this was reverse people would be protesting all over but this is racism in reverse every good gov job is given to a black how much more prejudice can you be. This make me sick wake up Spanish Mayan Indian Chinese you need to ask this pm and gov what about jobs for you this cannot continue .
Congrats my brother! We’re proud of you! Don’t be bothered by the noise in the market, check ur change and get on with the business at hand. With all the “bull” going around these days it’s a welcome change to see a new face. The only reason the opposition in challenging your appointment is because nothing good is suppose to come from the south! Well we’ve got news for them…This is just the beginning!
The Ombudsman’s Office should be built into a strong, impeccably honest and NON-POLITICAL voice of the common Belizean.
I will give Mr. Arzu the benefit of the doubt and hope he grows into his new office. In some countries the ombudsman is a real force for good.
Be quiet, Rod.
