Charged with ‘Permitting Himself to be Rescued’?
We reported on Wednesday that Corporal Edward Castillo was charged for Obstruction after he prevented Assistant Superintendent Anthony Rosado from carrying out his duty. On December twenty-sixth, Castillo was one of five occupants in an SUV driven by Lloyd Dyer Senior when it was inspected on Central American Boulevard. Rosado found that the vehicle’s insurance had expired and was escorting Dyer to a police mobile when Castillo jumped into the driver’s seat saying, “nobody wah tek my vehicle.” Dyer then jumped in on the passenger side and they sped off. Well, today Dyer also had to face the courts and appeared before Magistrate Kathleen Lewis where he was read the unusual charge of Permitting Himself to be Rescued as well as Driving a Motor Vehicle not Covered by Third Party Risk Insurance. He pleaded not guilty to both charges and was released on bail of one thousand dollars. Dyer is due back in court on February fourteenth. Castillo was also granted bail of a thousand dollars on Wednesday and is due back in court on February twelfth.
