  1. Storm says:

I support a limited curfew, meaning something like from 10 p.m. or midnight until 6 a.m. or so, and possibly limited in area to the City for now. I don’t think our security forces can enforce a wider curfew than that, and if a curfew [or law] isn’t enforced, it creates more mischief than it solves.

The way things are in the Jewel lately, not much good takes place on the streets after midnight.

People with legitimate work-related reasons to be out during curfew could get written permits from the police that they can present if they are stopped. Anyone else can go to jail for violating curfew.

  2. Belizean Pride says:

to be implemented only in the city, if it’s effective then it should be spread to other towns.

  3. busha says:

I said this a couple years ago…. Belize City is heading to Martial Law… and it looks like it’s getting closer… both political parties need to unify, and LEAD by conscience, not by political gain and ambition… Belize is at a crisis point, and no one respects the Law…

  4. John Boy,Carson,Ca says:

Why would I give up my Civil liberty. How would a curfew solve the problem.Curfew would not mitigate poverty, lack of education, high unemployment, corrupted government, and other ills of society.

  5. Retired CEO says:

Of course a curfew is needed, quite frankly in my humble opinion marshall law, utilize the military to bring some control in the streets. Clearly, the civilian leadership is incapable to lead the country.

  6. Melvin says:

That is exactly what this city needs.

  7. alex says:

Agree with you bro plus there is a need fo fight corruption and that need to start with our government leaders.

  8. Seletar says:

@John Boy, have you visited the City lately? You literally take your life in your hands every time you go onto the streets, no matter who you are. It’s a killing field. I don’t think you can understand what it’s like from the safety of California.

By the poll on this website, you see that there is overwhelming support for a curfew, because murder walks the streets here after dark. Sometimes gangsters kill people just for the pleasure of watching them die.

We’re in a war, and it will take harsh measures for a little while to win it. But we must win it!

  9. d.d says:

i definitely agree to a curfew from 6pm to 6am , at first to definitely assess the situation to see how the public and the criminals will re act to it . And if it seems like its working then reduce the time frame but a curfew need to be taken in effect immediately , because like i once said a couple years ago if this is not been done belize will get worst . And know my word is coming to past .

  10. Liberty & Freedom says:

I support the death penalty. That will send an immediate message to these low life’s….
