George Street is better than what P.U.P. say

Michael Finnegan

In the aftermath of the George Street massacre two weeks ago, opposition leader, Francis Fonseca, during a press conference, urged community leaders, political, social and religious, to visit residents of the crime-ridden neighborhood.  The objective, as he put it, was to ensure the people that the state is on their side and that the heinous quadruple murders were not extrajudicial killings.  Fonseca, on his own, met with a number of residents later that week.  While he has since appeared in the media to share the outcome of that meeting, the number in attendance remains questionable.  Fonseca says that he had an audience of thirty.  This afternoon, area representative Michael Finnegan, in whose constituency the George Street Gang operates, told the media that Fonseca lied about the abject living conditions of residents in Mesopotamia.

Michael Finnegan, Area Representative, Mesopotamia

“As far as I am concerned, the Leader of the Opposition, we are not in parliament now, we are out here, is a congenital liar because no yard on Dean Street can hold thirty people.  Absolutely no yard in my division on Dean Street can hold thirty or forty people.  Then he went on to say that there are four and five houses in one yard, man that’s a lie.  No yard in the Mesopotamia Division can never hold four or five houses, so that’s another lie and he said on West Street.  That’s a lie!”

Jules Vasquez

“Sir are you sure of that, that strong language you are using?”

Michael Finnegan

“Man I am cocksure!  Then he went on to say that these people are without electricity on West Street.  That is not true.  That is a total lie again!  Apparently the Leader of the Opposition does not know what is the meaning of the word veracity.  We should, you as the media should try to spell out the word and to let him know the meaning.  Everybody in my division has electricity.  There are no five and four and six houses in one yard in that division because there’s no yard [space].  The yard dehn so small how di hell dehn wah hold five six houses?  That is not true.  Then he cannot go into the hood and come out of the hood and try to disgrace the people because in my view what he did, he tried to belittle the voters of the Mesopotamia Division by saying dehn live eena four, five houses eena one yard and dehn all jam up and dehn noh got electricity, man those things are not true.”

    All these people are getting Bonkers ! ! !

  2. People on the Street says:

    Either Mr. Finnegan:
    (a) is in denial as to the suffering of his people;
    (b) very out of touch with the realities of his people;
    (c) just too damn ashamed that after 35 years as area representative, his people continue to live in abject poverty;
    (d) or just plain pathologically lyaaad!

  3. Buddy says:

    I agree with the above statement…I think Mr. Finnegan is tired now, he need to retire..he is out of touch with his people. I can go on and on…just one example…what happen to park on west st? it is dilapidated for some years now… they have no appreciation for the people of Mesop.

  4. Al says:

    Just as he is not truthful about the gang situation in his area, he cannot be trusted to tell the truth about anything. Until the people begin to think for themsleves men like Barrow, Finnegan and all others who fll their pockets on the back of the people will continue to rule over them. It is sad that my people have become so confortable with living in poverty that they have lost their ability to stand up for a better life.

  5. Storm says:

    @People on the Street, you said it perfectly!

    His district is one of the poorest and most deadly districts ON EARTH! Proud of your good work for the people, are you Hon. Finnegan? You fail them every day.

  6. 35 years!?!?! says:

    35 years no wonder the ppl of the area have no hope. Most of them dont know anything better. Hell most of the ppl there were born under his leadership. Imagine a 45 year old person. they were 10 when he took over that area. Still young and looking for guidance and nothing positive for them to follow. Now we have our answers.

  7. Eye in the Sky says:

    He looks well dressed, clean and wealthy compared to his people of the hood.

    He should be ashamed.

  8. ceo says:

    Myvette if you can truthfully say that the people in Messopotamia on those streets you named are living in an admirable or OK condition then you are the one that is keeping them down by trying to let them think that is as far as they can/should go.

    The living conditions in those areas is not good and they deserve more and yes most of the yards have several houses in them. There should be building codes to stop this mess from happening.

    (HONORABLE) Finnegan birthday party just gone last weekend. you should see his GINOURMOUS house in kings park.

    How can life be so hard for some toe and easy for others.

    Ur in a position of power to help finnegan. ur area is one of the poorest in the nation. you certainly have seemed to help YOURSELF over the past 35 years.

    have a conscience!

  10. Picus says:

    The problem is people like Mr.Finnegan want the people to remain in poverty. its called control. He love the fact that people from his representive area keep asking him for little handouts.Mr. minister give mi dis or that. then the cycle of favors starts. What has he done about creating jobs for the people in his area. Nothing. Remember more work less crime Mr. Minister. Yu area looking bad.
