P.M. supports Gappy for Deputy Party Leader
The campaign for U.D.P. Party Leader is heating up and it was all on the airwaves this morning. Party Chairman, Patrick Faber, is challenging sitting Deputy Party Leader, Gaspar Vega. Faber has released a campaign ad and has been making his media rounds, both on the impending B.N.T.U. demonstration and his bid for deputy leader at the U.D.P. convention to be held in Corozal town on February seventeenth. Earlier today on Wave radio, an arm of the United Democratic Party, the Prime Minister spoke about the upcoming convention for deputy party leader. He pledged his support for Deputy Prime Minister Gaspar Vega and made it clear he did not support Faber. He made similar comments following the referendum launch this morning in Belize City.
Prime Minister Dean Barrow
“This is the first time I’ve been asked a direction question and I gave the answer that I did and it stops there. if you want me to repeat that answer, I am happy to do so making clear that thereafter I will not engage in any extended commentary on the respective cases being put forward by the two contestants. I have said that while Minister Faber is, I think, an extremely well-qualified and able minister; while I think that he has a glorious leadership future in the United Democratic Party, at this time and for this contest I do not support him. End of story.”

Selecting from a group of two individuals who has made it clear that they & their family is above all others…Imagine…UDP will not be elected anytime soon with these to arrogant clowns in control. These two have proven that it will be business as usual when it comes to grabbing what they can for themselves until they leave office.
Well, Gaspar is the only reasonable gentleman out there. Thats clear to see..Faber is not
getting my support
I said it before and i will say it again! Whoever wins this spells trouble for the UDP
If Faber wins well the UDP are finished because maybe he is popular in Belize City but surely not in the other parts of the country and ….
If Vega wins then as per normal Faber will be acting like a spoilt child and talking down his own party… Then Vega will try to respond and he sometimes talks before he thinks and his words are sometimes controversial 🙂
i am in my thirties and i will give my support to the Hon. Min. Faber. I have seen what work he has done i have seen how hard he has been all around this country from sundays to sundays. This is an honourable, young and disciplined man. he has a bright future for himself and the country of Belize. Yes in belize their are many problems facing our communities, homes and even with ourselves. But we cannot sit and leave the work for our country leaders alone. I am a bit dissapointed about the prime ministers decision and his doings in this country, however that is his choice. As for G Vega he’s a definite no no. Ive heard the corrupt things that ha has done when it comes to getting things done the way he wants it. Imagine this quote, “I AM NO ORDINARY PERSON IN BELIZE.” That says a lot and to my custom, immigration and police officers those who have made encounters with him knows him. Phone calls ranging from “release that man” and “let my driver pass” and and when he parties and he wishes to have to best Rum and Beers form across the Border. HMMM u cant stop any vehicle especially if its him calling… There are many things he is but not capable of running the country HELL NO! Those who feel like Faber is a spoilt child ur jealous because he is young and capable of doing what he is now. Open ur eyes and see what he’s doing for education and much more.. If u were a minister You’d want ur high ride ur driver ur nice house and Dont shake heads and say NO cause we are Belizeans and we need to get out of this mentally of having everything for ourselves…….
ooohhh that must have hurt faber, anyways who cares about this wanna be clown, you got to crawl before you walk faber, if you win God help us.
2 idiots both of whom are unfit to be leader
@ belizeanpride—-i dont think Faber is upset about the PM decision. Faber has been in this game for awhile now and as such knows the ‘horse trading’ that has to go on. Faber is dean’s protege and would not be in the powerful position he is today if dean didnt have his back.
Dean is looking at the big picture he needs vega to keep the northern caucus in check. without vega he loses the north
its simple politics folks, nothing personal.
Barrow supporting Vega clearly demonstrates that he will continue to tolerate corruption in his government, he has forgotten his election promise prior to becoming Prime Minister, that his government will not tolerate not even a whiff of coruption, that once it rears its ugly head, he has a two edged machete to cut it off, well i guess, he can no longer smell, because this is one of the most corrupt government in the history of Belize
who cares
A call to all delegates: if you are a true UDP and care for your party the choice is clear – vote for Hon. vega. He has the qualities of a true leader. On the contrary, mr. faber has a dictatorship leadership. This will just create a chaos for the country and the party. Don’t be led by your emotions, be wise and support the deputy for another term.
