Not guilty of 20 pounds of cocaine in vehicle
Fifty-two year old Franz Hamilton, an electrician, is free tonight after a jury of nine found him not guilty of drug trafficking with the intent to supply. The case goes back to April twenty-third, 2010, when police searched an SUV which Hamilton was driving. There were two other passengers travelling to Orange Walk Town with him. When the vehicle was stopped in the area of the Tower Hill Bridge, Hamilton reportedly told the police that he wanted to relieve himself. But police took the vehicle to the police station and in a search, about twenty pounds of cocaine were found concealed in the panel of the SUV. Dickie Bradley, attorney for Hamilton, told the court that the vehicle was not for Hamilton and that it was owned by Stephen Burges who had provided the SUV for Hamilton to carry out an electrical job in Orange Walk. Burges was named as a last minute witness but then withdrawn and did not testify. The trial started on February fifth and concluded today in the court of Justice Herbert Lord. After he was charged, his wife claimed that he had a mental disorder but bail was twice denied.
Dickie again?
Trickie Dickie did it again. He is getting rich now but will rot in Hell one day. Karma will hit him.
Too bad for the Belizean drug dealers in Mexico there is no trickie Dickie to save them.
They should have tried the owner of the car with the driver, and let them point fingers of guilt at each other.
Someone was planning to sell a lot of poison, and justice was not done for the people of the Jewel — we want drug traffickers to die in prison! Personally, I’d put their lawyers in there with them.
go after real criminals: tourists with a stick of weed.
They need to vacation in Colorado and save some lawyers fees.
Either something missing in this article or we law enforcement people stupid. How come nobody arrest the owner of the vehicle? And the other people in the vehicle no got nothing to say?
This is ridiculous! The police and DPP can not even get a conviction when the bad guys are caught red handed! When will GOB ever get serious about upgrading our law enforcement agencies? They just keep on promoting unqualified bureaucrats up the ladder and then sticking their heads in the sand. Bring in outside professional help as the Crooks Report suggested. If we don’t stop this stupidity right now, we will never break this cycle of lawlessness.
You’re right, Hatari!
I’d like to hear from DPP and Compol about this bad result, how did it happen?
I DI TEL UNO DICKIE IS MAKING MONEY OF CARTELS AND MURDERERS!!!!!
Corrupt countries need corrupt governments to corrupt the justice.
Mello, Hezbollah, Faber’s brother, rosewood, sugar cane, rice, murders, principals and priests raping students, men stalking little girls to kill them.
We got Toledo cocaine landing with police escorts,
We got after hour landings with official fake visas for Japanese, Chinese, and who ever to be smuggled,
hardly a day is missed when new bold corruption plans are hatched.
Yes the corruption officers work overtime and give Belize what it will settle for, a raped and destroyed economy.
Meantime everyone gets used to living in fear, locked in their homes like personal prisons.
We have just shown the bad guys how to run their operation. Barrow a friends vehicle, run the drugs and if caught you won’t be held responsible.
