Unions say mandate of membership to determine next move
The union leaders say they are confident but agree that it all boils down to the mandate from membership.
Dylan Reneau, President, N.T.U.C.B.
“Certainly it appears as if though the wind has been knocked out of our sails because of the poor showing but there are reasons for that. I think what membership was saying is that we will give the trust to our union leadership to go back and do right by their members but at the same time we are going to keep both the union leaders and government accountable and that sends a strong signal. If things break down again, we have to go back to the membership, and they’ll decide what happens next. If this thing doesn’t go the way it should, that will be tested and then we will see what the real answer to your question will be.”
A round of discussions will be held this Friday with the Association of Public Senior Managers.
Union members unu need smart non-partisan people to represrnt you. How on earth this one going public to say he agree with govt but will begrudginly pretend to represent the members? This is why you all will not get anything. Start by getting rid of the wrong leaders on hand then deal with getting rid of the wrong govt later.
Wow, Reneau can really talk in circles!
I’m sure that this gov’t is only playing tricks on poor workers. Hey wake up union leaders because the tiger will eat all a we. There is no respect among our leaders, we need someone to faithful in what is being done. At the end of the day our money doesnot have the value that it should because everything is going up but not the salary of workers. teachers unu need to send a message to pm becaz unu invest alot in classroom materials. pm doesnot c this all what he wants is that unu spend from unu salary.
