Brit soon returns to court for charges involving boys

A bench warrant for British national David Taylor has been withdrawn. The warrant was issued when Taylor was due to re-appear in the Dangriga Magistrate Court last week but failed to do so. As it turned out, unknown to the Placencia police, Taylor applied and got bail from the Supreme Court on January eighteenth in the sum of five thousand dollars plus one surety for the same amount. The Placencia police had objected strongly because he was considered a flight risk, but the court granted bail. Back on December twentieth, Taylor, who resided in Placencia since 2005, was hauled before the Dangriga court for three counts of Aggravated Assault of an Indecent Nature and one for an Unnatural Crime on a thirteen year old minor of the village. The alleged crimes took place between March and August 2012. On his computer and hard drive, police found pornographic material involving young boys from Belize and other countries. The British national initially pleaded guilty to the charges of aggravated assault, but the Magistrate entered a not guilty plea. And for the charge of unnatural crime, no plea was taken and Taylor was remanded in prison until he eventually got bail. At the time of his arrest, there were reports that other minors might have been sexually assaulted, but that parents were not eager to press charges. Taylor is now to reappear in court on Friday.
Somebody please lock up this man in hattievill. Why the magistrate let him go free? Maybe cause he white. I sure he will like jail cause then he could have somebody do unto him what he does to others. By the way where is bert vasquez? The lest time i heard they had him in his own private area and possible not even in jail anymore? We lock up people for stealing bread cause they hungry but we let rapists and murderers go free especially if they light skin. Where is justice?

Taylor is 1/2 Belizean (his mother is Belizean) and holds a Belizean passport…so being “white” has nothing to do with it.get your facts STRAIGHT sickntired, before making it into a racist thing. Something does seem fishy with the Taylor case and I am wondering why his date got change, and why his guilty plea was not accepted!
seems lie you just here about something in the news once, everyone gets riled up and then they drop all off it and we never here the outcome. doens’t make sense that they give people bail on crimes liek these especially when they have ties in other countries and can easily move away. not lie the borders are secured that well here, easy to slip out. money ofcourse means everything, i mean maritzas killer just gone to guatemala and now no one cares, the whole thing is forgotten…
@aij, that is Belize everyone have very short memories everything in Belize is just for right now big noise and nothing behind the big noise. Belize people have no conviction for anything the only thing they take heed to is money. Once you have money to buy them you will find life in Belize to be Paradise on earth. So sad no one have respect for themselves and country.
If he’s walking around the streets of Belize, the parents in his neighborhood need to form patrols to follow him everywhere, don’t give him a second of peace where he can rape another little boy.
If he’s convicted, cut his b—s off.
If I were a parent of one of his victims, I don’t think I could help myself from hunting him down and killing him. He deserves it. And if I were on a jury, I would vote to acquit anyone who did that. It’s necessary to protect the children of the Jewel, because clearly the courts won’t protect them.

The country needs an independent website to really track crime.
Last year somebody stole some cans of paint from house.
I did not report it to GOB, too much trouble and what are the going to do?
Considering the murder rate and conviction rate, they should be spending time on that.
If there was a legitimate well run website, that was not corrupt twisting the numbers, I would spend the time to make the report so to have accurate statistics. Knowing what is really going on is the best way to put an end to crime and stupidity.
Yes I would like to know when these people are out on bail or fresh out of prison, know what they look like, so if they move next to me I got a chance not to be taken by them.
I do wonder about people who chop their friend up to steal her baby so to impress an ex boyfriend, or her male associates who where part of it. It would be good to know they are still in jail and when they will be getting out. Or for Bert Vasquez, when does this trial begin and why it is taking so long? Or how many GOB employees have been indicted, convicted and in/out of prison; or indicted but never goes to trial, the prosecutors might be embarrassed by those statistics and might reveal some high level string pulling. An authoritive, well written story about what really happened with the $300 million coke bust would be a good read.
We need a searchable source of information on Belize crime. The criminals do not want us to have that, it spoils their surprises and embarrasses them.
How about the drunk driving Faber case?
Or the Hezbollah passport case?
Or the Lebanese murder cases?
Or the cops who killed the ambulance driver?
This is the last six months.
Cases closed? No further real action by GOB? Who made that decision? Are they corrupt?
I would like to see the very long list, know the current statuses, and be able to easily show it to someone.
