A.P.S.S.M. meeting, president Castellanos absent again

Executives from the Association of Public Service Senior Managers were scheduled to meet this morning with president Jose Castellanos in Belize City to discuss a way forward following recent consultations on the proposed salary adjustment.  Castellanos did not attend the scheduled meeting which proceeded in his absence without any decision. Castellanos had also backed out of joint negotiations at the eleventh hour, one day shy of a scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Barrow on February first. In his absence the sit-down was chaired by A.P.S.S.M. Vice-President Frazer. But, according to Immediate Past President George Myvette, the status quo within the association has not changed since Castellanos’ attendance was necessary in order for the body to determine its next move in light of his impending retirement.

I wonder if his “medical unfitness” relates to a mental issue? To an impartial observer, his recent behavior seems erratic at best.

  2. E says:

yes i believe it has to do with his mental instability. There have been times when he had to seclude himself because he becomes paranoid. Craziness runs in his family. from the horse’s mouth, i heard that he can’t sleep at night and he just paces like a maniac. maybe he is going thru one of his episodes at the present time.
