She claimed the butcher knife, but not the weed in bag
A waitress of Biscayne Village was slapped with a stiff fine for drug trafficking of one hundred and twelve grams of cannabis which is a little over three ounces. The incident occurred on August third 2012 when the taxi Elvia Dominguez was travelling in, was stopped by police. Nothing incriminating was found inside the car but when police searched Dominguez, they found a plastic bag containing the cannabis inside her bag. Thirty-one year old Dominguez appeared before Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith and denied the allegation. Dominguez stated that on the day of the incident, on her way back from the municipal airstrip, she caught the taxi along with another passenger who got off in the Conch Shell Bay area. She then claimed that all she had in her sling bag was a butcher knife and did not know how the weed got into her purse. Chief Magistrate Smith did not believe her version of the events and Dominguez was found guilty and charged with a hefty fee of ten thousand dollar and was ordered to pay two thousand today or serve six months in prison. The other eight thousand is to be paid by January thirtieth 2014 or in default she will serve three years in prison.
If it was one hundred and twelve dollars in her bag and not 112 grams of cannabis, she wouldn’t deny it’s not hers though. Lady, you are GUILTY!
This particular law needs to be ammended. $10,000 dollars or three years behind bars for three ounce of weed? Are you kidding me?
I am not saying she should get off scot-free but, $10,000 dollars? I don’t think in this case the punishment fits the crime. No way!
By the way, I don’t even smoke weed. So…..
Then if tha so. How many years the mexican Villasenor will get?
That is a stupid law
Look pan di woman lip and then u wa know if she had weed or eh mi done smoke it
Or maybe she di model wa new black lipstick – who knows?????
