4 students and teacher arraigned for killing howler monkey
In March 2013, public outrage was aroused when a black howler monkey was badly beaten by four third form students at the Belize High School of Agriculture in southern Orange Walk. And worse than that, they allegedly did it because a teacher told them to. The Forest Department was involved from the start and an investigation ensued. The monkey died a few days after, but public sentiment is still very much alive, and we have been following this case closely to see what, if any charges would be levied against the four students and the teacher. News Five understands that the attackers did finally appear in the Orange Walk Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, and were all charged for illegal hunting. The four students, two of them minors, and teacher Angel Carillo were granted bail in the sum of one thousand dollars each and they are to reappear in court on June twenty-sixth, 2013.
Good! I wonder where Trudy is to comment on this one? Her eyes must be popping out her head. In her last comment when this story was brought up for debate, she said “slap them on their hands and wave your finger at them, it’s just a monkey for christ sake.” No, it’s not just a monkey, it’s an animal and if one can treat animals like that I can see why Belize is the way it is. And don’t go talking about ‘WHITE’ people risking their lives to save animals, maybe the blacks should risk their lives for something instead of nothing. I am black and have a dog and a cat. I treat them like a family member because they live in my house, they too have feelings and show emotions like we do. Also don’t let me get biblical on you, do your homework and do it well. And next time take a look at the crime section on channel five website and see how Belizeans kill each other over stupid things, or how many Belizeans try to save children, women from harm. oh yeah? how about the adult guardians last week who neglected to find that boy trapped [and who perished] in the car parked in plain sight in the sweltering sun? are they going to slip through your and the rest of the media’s moral sieve? Oh, they get a pass, right? because it was a mistake. now i’m thinking the reason for your blockheadedness is that You are so much like the animals you sleep with. you rise, eat, sh*t, mope around without any semblance of intelligence at whatever job you do, eat again, entertain yourself, eat one more time, and go back to sleep. you do this for 50 years and then die of your bad diet. what a waste of ration!
They are animals. I would be happy to see them treated like the monkey they tortured and killed. The fact is that many studies show that people who deliberately harm animals are seriously disturbed, and a threat to harm other people in the future. For the good of society they need to be harshly handled. And identified so we can all keep our eyes on them!
A $1000 that’s it? what about $5,000 for the students and $50,000 for the teacher and he should never step in a classroom ever again. He is a very poor example of what a teacher should be!

Picture of the teacher please! add salt to the wound that is! Tie them all by the neck [just as they did to the helpless creature] and beat some sense into them. Furthermore, expel those students and fire that shame of a teacher! HE’S THE ONLY TEACHER THAT DOESN’T DESERVE A SALARY INCREASE!
