Shopkeeper refuses customer’s knapsack of week

Donald Gaskin

Twenty-nine year old Donald Leslie Gaskin of Kraal Road has been charged for Drug Trafficking. Gaskin appeared before Magistrate Dale Cayetano, this morning and was read the Drug Trafficking charge to which he pleaded not guilty. On Friday morning, police were on mobile patrol in the Faber’s Road area where they detected Gaskin acting suspiciously. The police claimed that Gaskin attempted to push the bag through a small window of Chinese grocery shop but the owner of the shop, would have none of it and pushed the bag back at him. Police approached him and when they searched the bag they found four parcels of suspected cannabis weighing in at four hundred and thirty three grams. Gaskin was offered bail in the sum of five thousand dollars, plus a surety of the same amount.  Up until news time he was unable to meet the fine and remains in police custody.  He is due back in court on May fourteenth.

That’s a lot of weed. I think we need a law that denies bail for people in possession of such large amounts of poison.

  2. Lincoln says:

So what is wrong with weed again? I can write scrolls about what is wrong with milk and coke and cigarettes and vaccines……

  3. Seletar says:

Lincoln, one think that’s wrong with weed is IT’S ILLEGAL.

If you want to use it, grow it, or sell it without penalty, then get the law changed.

I’ve never used the stuff, and almost no alcohol, either, because they both impair the brains God gave us. Weed makes people pretty unproductive, too, and that’s a burden on the nation. The weed people also tend to be found around other hard drugs that are genuinely addictive and deadly poisonous, and those drugs I oppose like poison.

I could listen to a debate about legalizing use of weed BY ADULTS ONLY, with controls and taxation similar to alcohol — and HARSH punishment for selling to minors, HARSH punishment for driving under the influence. I’m not sure how I would vote after a sensible debate, but I know I would oppose totally unregulated growing and using grass.
