Lord’s Bank resident critical after crashing into fence

A Lord’s Bank resident is tonight in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital following a near fatal traffic accident in the Lord’s Bank Village in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Forty-five year old Horace Nicodemus Williams Junior is tonight being kept alive in the Intensive Care Unit at the K.H.M.H.  Around twelve-thirty on Sunday morning, “Plumber” as he was affectionately known, was travelling in a Mazda pickup on Cuello Street when he lost control of the vehicle and slammed into this white fence. The pickup was extensively damaged and Williams Junior and his passenger, forty-three year old Enrique Pook, were trapped inside the pickup. Firefighters had to cut the vehicle open to remove one of the men from the wreckage. Williams Junior and Pook were rushed to the K.H.M.H. by BERT Ambulance. News Five spoke to a witness who was awaken by the sound of the impact and ran out to see her fence broken in and the men inside a wrecked vehicle.

Voice of: Witness

“First I was sleeping and I heard a loud bang actually. So I went outside and I saw the car was in the fence and I saw two men unconscious. The driver was actually in the back seat unconscious and the other his leg was stuck in the car. So both of them were unconscious. We tried to help them but none of us were experienced in trying to get them out. But it was very shocking and they were bleeding. I think Mister Pook he got hit in the head and the other dehn call Plumber, he was unconscious in the back. And a lot of blood. the car was totally smashed. They smashed into our fence. I guess they lost control of the vehicle.”

“The authorities were called a little while after and they had to cut open the vehicle to get out the men.”

Voice of: Witness

“It actually took then thirty to forty-five minutes for them to arrive and they were nonresponsive. So a person from B.D.F. he came; he was actually dropping someone home and that is when he tried to take Plumber out of the vehicle because he was unconscious. He said that if he didn’t get him out, he would have died so that is what happened. He knocked out the back window open.”

“So the firefighters and police I believe came and cut open the vehicle.”

Voice of: Witness

“The firefighters they came and they cut open the vehicle to get firstly Mister Plumber out because he was unconscious and then they dealt with Mister Pook after.”

Pook has since been discharged.

I hope our first responders’ rescue action was in time and that Plumber will recover, but it sounds bad and sad.

I’ve said it before, nothing good happens on the streets after midnight.

Hello to all my family in Belize. Young and old, big and small. I miss you all. Please pray for my Unlce Junie. Ask our Heavenly Father to grant his child a pardon in this tragic accident so that he may have a chance to live among us a while longer.
