  1. Blanco says:

The rosewood business is a lucrative one and the biggest exporter is the brother of Minister Gaspar Vega who has an alliance with Kent, a Chinese business man from the Free Zone, both are using the Government and the Forest Department to greedily enrich themselves in a short period raping our forest and bribing the whole system. It is a shame on the Government of Belize and the Forest Department not to have mechanisms in place to monitor the situation. Both persons have exported very huge quantities of rosewood under the name of GIV Exports, Xin Xan Trading and others under different names. These persons need to be exposed in public!!!!

The biggest exporter of rosewood is the brother of Natural Resources Minister, who along with one Mr. Kent from the Free Zone have been bribing the government system to be able to export huge amounts of rosewood to China, where they have received huge profits and paying a meagre price tot he Mayans down south. It is a shame for the GoB and the Forest Department to not monitor the situation, unless officers are heavily involved in the illegal trade. These exporters have bribe the whole system, from BAHA Personnel, Forestry Personnel, Customs, the Police. These rapists of our natural resources need to be exposed in public!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there is a guy in the ministry by the name of cruz who does all the wheeling and dealing. Allamilla should have given out these confiscted wood to crafts people or schools to add value. belizeans are tired of this fool with our natural resources. the PM should replace him at natural resources since a leopard never changes his spots. thats why he hates briceno so much because both smell like the same kettle of fish.

  4. ah know says:

  6. OH WELL says:

Listen people you can blog all you want but until someone wants to stand up and lead Belize will continue as it has been. Talk TALK TALK that is all Belizeans know how to do no one has the back bone strong enough to actually stand up to all the crookedness. This is going to continue and the 5 rich families of OW and Belize will continue to flourish. That’s just the way it is. Like they say THIS IS BELIZE.

    YES; at the highest level

  8. Bear says:

Of course there is corrupt government involvement — what private person can declare an amnesty for crimes, or order the release of criminal evidence?

More than any community, the Mayans should be up in arms and patrol their own hardwood stands and make citizen arrests of all the thieves. For the most part it seems it is their communal resources being stolen.
