Suspect charged for murder of basketball player
Eighteen-year-old Lloyd Alexander King, also known as Moose, has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison where he awaits trial for the Belize City murder of a prominent basketball player, Ronald Rivers. King, who was initially indicted for attempted murder and firearm-related offenses, saw his charges upgraded following Rivers’ death a few weeks after the shooting incident. On March fourth, Rivers’, who was tending to his vehicle at the Uno Service Station on Youth For the Future Drive, was shot in the face by a lone gunman. Police on mobile patrol in the area immediately pursued the shooter, later identified as Lloyd King, riding down Johnson Street where he was seen tucking a firearm into his pants. He was subsequently arraigned for firearm and ammunition offenses before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith. Today, King appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Hurl Hamilton where he was read a single charge of murder. Moose, who is presently serving a five-year sentence, remains on pretrial lockup until May twenty-fourth.
A life for a life is just. Hang him. No mercy, no exceptions.
I’m sorry but you would have to prove to me that he did it. Just because he was seen in the area is not proof enough for me. For all I know Storm could’ve been in the area with his firearm underneath his passenger side seat. I’m just saying, give me evidence as proof. Because the “No Mercy, No Exceptions” could apply to any and everyone. But of course in a poor 3rd world country it will mostly apply to the poor.
