“I just gone fi clean di saw and when I take off the thing off of the saw, the same time the person mi rob my family dah front. Then I hear my bredda say bwai and then the person buss wah shot way from the counter to way dah back at him. Then the person run way dah back there and fired three shots at him and I see he drop. And I grab the thing why I mi got because ih soot me and I stone it at him. When I stone it at him, ih shoot me again and I drop. And dah deh soh the male individual run outta di building, check.”

Hyde says that while things happened extremely fast, he thinks that he recognized the shooter from an incident a few days before when a chicken truck was robbed in front of the store.

Mark Hyde

“He have on wah hood and wah rag, but more or less I coulda try figure out dah who beucase the person I feel like dah this same person weh mi gone and rob wah chicken truck weh I mi goen di other day. This same person I feel like dah he because to me the gun look like the same kinda gun. I mi see the gun and the same gun weh dehn shoot my bredda with, I think dah the same three-eighty weh dehn mi gone rob the truck with. So I noh know if it could be that same gun deh but I think dah that.”

Mike Rudon

“Tell me a lee bit bout that chicken truck incident cause I noh know about it.”

Mark Hyde

“Well just ina last week we mi got wah incident right dah Roaring Creek in front of that same business establishment there. Aye. While I mi ina the chicken truck the deal with this man on a lee business, two male persons pull up without mask, barefaced and so I say that they dah noh from yah. But the way how this person look and the one weh gone rob we last night and kill my bredda, dah di same built and thing that person deh got. So I say maybe it could be the same person too mien. It got the same body built and the same kinda gun like ih mi got ina ih hand, you know.”

Other than that, Hyde says there is no other motive he can think of for the events of that night.

Mark Hyde

“Me and my bredda we noh really got no problem with nobody right now right. Right now people di kill fi fun boss check. People wah rob yo and kill yo pan top just sake ah weh dehn noh wah leave no evidence or nothing like that.”

Hyde says that like anyone else who has lost a loved one to violence, he wants justice, and will be prepared to appear as a witness if the Police find the alleged killer. Mike Rudon for News Five.

  1. Storm says:

I hope the police can conduct a professional investigation and solve the crime, and that DPP can win a case in court when it has a willing witness.

Alternatively, I would be just as satisfied if the people lynch the killer and hang him from a tree.
