P.U.P. supports and gives credibility to 2 court rulings

The People’s United Party is weighing in on two recent court decisions. In respect of the OCEANA challenge on six oil contracts, the court declared them null and void because a required Environmental Impact Assessment was not carried out. The Opposition says it fully supports the Court rulings and pledges to abide by these decisions when in government and that it will respect the decision made in the People’s Referendum on Offshore Oil exploration as held by OCEANA.  Furthermore, the P.U.P. says it will not issue oil exploration licenses which are not in full compliance with the Laws of Belize.  Turning to the case by the Bar regarding the Constitutional Amendments which have been struck down by the court, the P.U.P. says the decision of the Court vindicates the condemnation of those amendments and upholds the requirement for security of tenure for Judges.

Yeah right! He giveth and he taketh away, is the motto of the PUP!! If you believe what the PUP say then you will believe anything on this earth. Once elected you will see the battle between Oceana and the PUP when it concerns BIG BUCKS.

Is this the pup way of trying to tell the Belizean People that they are “THE NEW PUP”???

Belizeans do not take that bate. The oil companies will wait and look for the weakest link to bribe. Poor politicians make poor politicians and oil companies will seek those politicians to bribe with hundreds of thousands of dollars the rest of cabinet will follow.

I agree with all of the above bloggers,
but a big question I ask myself when election comes i don’t believe nothing from PUP and also the UDP so, I’m left with two options vote for the upcoming parties or just don’t vote since the two major parties are a scam and atrocities done to the jewel is being felt now more than ever since i was a kid.

    Pup has credibility…

We obviously need an honest, conservative third party to form, because we have all been burned by both PUP and UDP. They are just different gangs, but gangs just the same, and they deservedly have no credibility at all with the majority of Belizeans.

A third party does not need to win a majority of seats right away, it just needs to win a handful of them to hold the balance of power, and that way it can force some reform.

For example, let’s say in the next election PUP wins 15 seats, and UDP wins 11 seats and a REFORM PARTY wins only 5 seats — not an impossibility. Well, NEITHER major party could rule without forming a coalition with the Reform Party, because its 5 votes can either give a 20-11 majority for PUP, or a 16-15 majority for UDP. NEITHER MAJOR PARTY COULD RULE BY ITSELF.

Maybe some Belizean crusaders should start thinking in these terms.

That, or a “People Power Revolution,” hopefully mainly peaceful, or a coup d’etat by some group of patriotic BDF officers, or having the Governor General take charge to oust a crooked government seem to be the only hopeful options. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
