Pregnant woman accused of stabbing brother-in-law

Therese Bowman

A pregnant Belize City woman is being accused of stabbing her brother-in-law during an alleged family dispute. Therese Bowman, a twenty four year old resident of Partridge Street, was escorted to the Magistrate Court late on Tuesday after she had been treated at the K.H.M.H.  She was charged with the Wounding of Shane Jones. Bowman spent the night at the Queen Street Police Station since she could not meet bail until this morning.  Jones, a bus conductor from Double Head Cabbage, claims he was attacked by Bowman early on Tuesday morning.  Bowman told the court that Jones has been provoking her for quite a while. On the day of incident she claims she was at home, when Jones came to visit her sister. Bowman also says that Jones threw an object at her and beat her up.  Fearing for her life and in her condition, she says she grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the shoulder area.

He said, she said. Sounds like a poor household for the child to be born into, sadly.
