Ras Indio, musician back from Ethiopia

Ras Indio

Ras Indio is a Belizean musician who is so busy that his passion for the art keeps him on the road. Indio, normally participates in Caribbean tours and reggae tours in the USA and Canada. Recently, Indio had crossed the Atlantic and smoked with the crowds in Amsterdam. But this time, the son of Bredda David, has gone to Africa. News Five spoke to Indio and he told us how being in Ethiopia has enhanced his music.

Ras Indio, Musician

“This time all the way to the east to a place called Ethiopia. Well, I went to actually see things that I was seeing about all of his life. All my life as a Rasta and an Afrincan descended person, I see it as the cradle of mankind. Ethiopia is known for many culture and history things about the culture and history of the place.  So opportunity arose. It was musically inclined but it wasn’t a concert this time. It was just musicians that I know and they invited me over. I took the opportunity. We ended up performing in a club called club jubilee, but it was just a spontaneous moment. What came out of that is that Ras Indio music, Belize City, will be playing now over there on 103.5. But it was a blessing to see the earth on that side of the world. To see that it was so much like here and see why we have the tendencies that we have as a people. We definitely set foot there. We have this calendar this is the new thing for the year. This is actually just a press kit that we use to book shows around the world. But if we go to the month of April, you will see that it has the full collection of Ras Indio’s albums. Yes we missed a quarter of the year because I was in Ethiopia and Egypt. But I am back and Agricultural Trade Show Ground, looking forward to seeing you there.”
