She stole his heart, but she was about to burglarize his home too

Thirty-four year old Lisa Smith was arraigned on a count of burglary when she appeared before Magistrate Dale Cayetano today.  It is alleged that sometime over the weekend, Smith, a resident of Set Site, illegally entered the home of her boyfriend, Robert Mejia, with the intent to steal.  Hattieville police report that on Sunday morning, shortly before three o’clock, they responded to a call from Mejia, who informed them that his home was being broken into.  Upon arrival, police found Mejia’s estranged girlfriend hiding inside his bedroom.  Despite not being successful in her attempt, Smith was charged a single count of burglary.  In court this morning, the domestic offered an explanation which the magistrate instructed be reserved until June eleventh, when she is scheduled to reappear before him.  Smith was subsequently offered bail in the sum of three thousand dollars, plus one surety of the same amount.
