And from taking offense to giving offense, Orozco reiterated that there is no foreign government at work in this case, and it is a human rights agenda that is dictating his struggle. Orozco also revealed that discrimination is one of the key issues at play in this case.

“The US Government and the British Government is not forcing anybody to the Supreme Court. I am. Let’s make that very clear. I am forcing the issue to the Supreme Court. As a note on the issue of discrimination, my good man Giovanni, I am actually am not attracted to fat people. So I could call for discrimination against fat people. There are quite a few pudgy people in this room. So let’s talk about selective discrimination or unjust discrimination. Let’s talk about that. You cannot pick or choose the fundamental rights and freedoms that we have in Belize. In 1981, it was Belizeans who approved those fundamental rights and freedoms—not Britain, not the U.S.; Belizeans. And as such, we decided that all citizens had fundamental rights and freedoms—not except homosexuals, not except fat people, not except disable people. And as such, we need to recognize that that process is dynamic enough that it allows me to have my say as a minority group; it allows my religious right people to have their say and move on. We are having a healthy discussion to agree to disagree and we are moving on. That is what a democracy is all about. And if one cannot respect the other, we are on a slippery slope to discriminate against some other group. All I am is that it is my right to bring the issue to the court and let’s treat the issue fairly and not with the prejudice that is perceived the discussion deserves.”
The trial that is attracting international press begins on Tuesday in the courtroom of Chief Justice Kenneth Benjamin.

Excellent Point Belizean Pride. This decision should be put in the hands of Belizeans and not burden the Government in making decisions that are not truly represented of the majority of the Belizean Population. G.O.B should not have their armed twisted by this minority group, leave it to us to decide in a referendum to prove how unpopular this request is. This way G.O.B. does not appear as the bad guy and a true representation is given on the sentiments of how our Belizean Citizens feel about the issue at large. Amend the law so that sociocultural issues like these are settled in referendum by the people and not in court. ..

What if the abolition of slavery were left to a referendum vote? Would the white majority voters who had everything to gain from slavery voted against it? The rights of a minority should never be placed in the hands of the majority to decide. This only leads to exploitation and abuse of HUMAN BEINGS. It amazes me how the people of the Caribbean are so lost on this issue, it’s as if we have short memories or maybe we really have no idea of our own dark history. The right of the government is to protect and serve its citizens, ALL of its citizens, whether they are popular among the majority or not.
The rise of the Arab spring, the “99%” shutting down Wall Street, to university students rioting in France over the lack of jobs and economic opportunities, people around the world are speaking up and speaking out against injustices and clamoring for change; Unibam’s case is no different. Since the 1960’s sexual revolution, the world has been caught in a debate as to what determines one’s sexual orientation and preference. Is it nature, nurture or one’s choice? I keep hearing people say that homosexuality is a choice; are they then saying that we all are homosexuals or harbor homosexual thoughts and only society’s homophobic mentality prevents us from acting on those desires? The truth, psychologist have all determine that sexuality is anything but a choice and is all part of what makes us who we are as individuals. And where in the Bible does is it really say that being gay is wrong? The Bible says “eye for an eye” but also says that God loves everyone, everything that he made is perfect and we must treat others in the way we want to be treated. The Bible is not without controversy. Up until 1970, the Mormon Church believed that black people were a sub-human cursed race and would never enter the gates of heaven and weren’t allowed to join their church.
My point is, now is the time to do away with stereotypes and discrimination and debate the issue intelligently. Gays aren’t an evil clan looking to end human race, they’ve been here from the beginning of time and are still here. Like the Arab spring, they are speaking up and speaking out, announcing to the world that this is who they are and simply asking to be treated fairly.

Gays have a disease which decreases their testosterone level which makes them attracted to same sexes. They should all be treated with hormones that will boost their ability to be what they were made to be!!!!!
