Real fight talk lands 2 women in court

A dispute between two women over how to talk to a two year has ended up in court with charges and counter charges. The incident occurred on Monday when thirty-six year old Stefanie Vargas and twenty-eight year old Chanique Robinson became embroiled in fight.   Today, they appeared before the Belize City Magistrate’s Court to answer to separate charges after they made complaints against each other.  The first to be arraigned was Robinson; she was read a single charge of Wounding upon Vargas, who in turn was slapped with two criminal offenses including Harm and Common Assault upon Robinson. Both women initially pleaded guilty to the offenses.

In the case of Robinson, she pleaded guilty to wounding Vargas. While Vargas pleaded guilty to causing harm to Robinson, she pleaded not guilty to common assault.  In providing explanations to the court for their guilty plea, Robinson said that Vargas had intervened during a conversation with her child while Vargas said she did not like the way Robinson spoke to the two year old and that furthermore Robinson hit her with a stick. Vargas also said that Robinson flung a broken bottle at her causing her a wound.  After hearing both explanations, Magistrate Dale Cayetano entered a not guilty plea on behalf of both women and offered them bail.   They are due back in Court on June seventeenth.
